Old vines, unfiltered, unfined, minimal SO2, natural wine from the Touraine area.
Was introduced to this last year at my old job. Definitely made in a reductive style. The nose is alive with smoke, rhubarb, a touch of grassy/herbal influence, bruised apple, something a bit tropical - maybe guava? - and crushed stone. The texture is absolutely pristine; crystalline and focused with a touch of oily roundness that sits on the palate perfectly. So, so delicate. A real joy to drink.
