TN: 2017 Goodfellow Family Cellars Chardonnay Willamette Valley

  • 2017 Goodfellow Family Cellars Chardonnay Willamette Valley - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley (5/4/2020)
Consumed from a Grassl Cru glass. Underripe tropical fruit (pineapple, mango, passion fruit) mingle with citrus notes of lemon peel and lime zest, backed by a core of seashell/chalky minerality. Medium in body and concentration, but still has that tension I love and refreshing acidity on the palate, with the fruit notes gliding to the back of the throat. The finish has nice saline and fresh cut herbal notes. An excellent chardonnay from Marcus that punches well above its weight as a “basic” appellation level wine. (91 pts.)

I bought three cases of this when it first came out. An absolute steal for the price. I’m almost out now, but luckily the 2018s are in.

So much for being cellar defenders champagne.gif
