2002 Chateau Magdelaine

Corked. Badly enough that it was no fun to drink but not so horrendously that I didn’t keep hoping throughout dinner that “maybe it isn’t really TCA and will blow off…”

Dinner is over and the TCA has only gotten worse. Much worse.

Bordeaux with lamb chops seemed like such a good idea.

Too bad. One of my favorites. Pulled my last bottle of 1990 Magdelaine this morning for a Sunday Evening dinner.

:frowning:

That would have been an old-school Bordeaux from an old-school vintage.
I hope your next one shows well.

Too bad, Jay, that Magdelaine and lamb would have been a fantastic pairing. The 2002 is quite good and accessible.

Agreed. I opened a bottle of 2002 last year and it showed very well and much readier than some older vintages.
