From winebusiness.com regarding 2019 vintage:

Willamette Valley

Gran Moraine winemaker Shane Moore jockeyed for starting position up north, initiating harvest in Yamhill-Carlton on August 29. “So far we’ve only brought in base wine. But the juice is tasting great!” he says. “We’ve had some really nice flavors developing at low brix, and plenty of acidity. Yields are average, and the fruit is in perfect condition.”

A friend told me today was his first De Negoce purchase, so I had to try a 77 to give him some insight...

Now I'm up to 20 cases.

Opened a #77 tonight. It was a great buy at $12 plus another $3.70 shipping and taxes, but it paled in comparison to a BD Brittan we had yesterday.
Still good enough that I picked up a case of the #128.

First DN bottle opened, ~ Carignane / So far examples of Cab Sauv(s), Syrah, Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, Tempranillo, Malbec, Merlot and Carignane have made their way to the Palmetto State (missed a Zin offer and passed on three others, but still waiting for such). In spite of bottle travel, shock and maturing, curiosity finally got the best of me. Sitting at the fire pit on a Spring like day, N135 Carignane was opened. I'm not able to describe with all the enamored fruit flavors most of the 'berserkers' can manage, but will state that we enjoyed the hell out of this example. With an extensive time to let this wine breathe/settle down, it was obvious that with as little as one more year of maturing this will be an accompanying turkey 'n ham Christmas season delight. A fuller bodied carignane than anticipated for this well produced varietal. Thanks, Cameron!

They all very good. However, they were purchased for much less $ a year ago! I would say get a mixed case of all five of them though I did not get #4 so can't comment there but same producer as 2,3.

C Heinsen:
Redacted vineyard on 2,3,4 is Stagecaoch (Stagecoach is trademarked, must be registered for commercial use). The Franc is incredible, mouthfeel is wonderful. Did not get the Merlot nor the Cab. Should have. Original price on OG N.02 was $180/case. Still a good deal with store price to try a single bottle or two.

Cheers, Tim

Second on the N.03 Cab Franc. N.06 was also well received.

OG Lot 150 2019 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 12-bottle case
$144.00
https://www.denegoce.com/products/og-lo ... ottle-case

The story of Lot 150 started on our trip up to Washington State late last summer. Word got around that we had tidied up many a cellar and we were invited back to peruse the expansive cellars of another high-end producer. Here we found a treasure trove of largely pre-assembled barrel lots of Cabernet Sauvignon from some of Red Mountains finest vineyards like Ciel du Cheval, Quintessence, and Klipsun not to mention the producer's own estate vineyard.

We finalized two wines, the first of which is OG Lot 150 2019 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.

A combination of barrel lots from programs that range from $50/bottle (~60% of blend) up to the mid-$80's (~40% of the blend), the result captures all the ethereal beauty of Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon for the incredible price of just $12/bottle, $144/case. I do think its fair to say this wine would easily retail for $60+/bottle. Only 800 cases are available at this price.

Deep ruby/opaque in the glass. Sweet violets and crushed red rock halo black cherry, leather and plum. There are layers of nuance and complexity here and a new discovery around every corner as the bouquet opens up with blackberry and brown sugar/walnut husk joining cinnamon spice. Ripe and chewy on entry with black cherry and leather resounding over bristling tannins. The finish is beautiful, playing out with richness, elegance and precision. Exceptionally-deft wine making here.

86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 2% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Syrah, 1% Petite Verdot
~55% new French oak
14.7% alc.
800 cases available

With only 4,040 acres in total, Red Mountain is a tiny AVA in Washington State with an out-sized place in the gestalt of Washington Wine.

Essentially an "eddy" behind a string of weathered foothills, the Missoula Floods deposited nutrient rich topsoil's over the sand, silt and gravel behind the foothill "dam". The resulting soil structures are one of the geological "black swans" that winemaker's die for.

Today's release, Lot 150 2019 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, comes to us from a producer sourcing from the top vineyards in Red Mountain. Complex, layered and nuanced, Lot represents the pinnacle of what we do at de Négoce - deliver excellent wines at incredible prices.

The minute I tasted this Cabernet, I knew it was destined for a significant Lot number.

Seven Hills is a guess based on the various vineyards and past sourcing

Though I don’t know if they’ve ever used quintessence vineyard fruit before

The offer says they finalized two wines from the sourced barrels. The blend on this one is from wines costing $50/bottle (~60% of blend) up to the mid-$80's (~40% of the blend). I wonder if the second offer will be more of the higher end wine and less of the lower end wine. It could also be a very different blend altogether with more Malbec, syrah etc. If we knew, it would make my decision a lot easier.

Unlikely he would use the lower blend for a "milestone" wine and a higher quality one for a random lot #.

The other approach would be to release the lower blend as the milestone and talk it up to sell it through, and then release the other higher quality blend later knowing that people will buy it because it is higher quality, without the need for the extra "milestone" marketing attached to it.

Well, he would if he has much more of the lower so he can sell more of the milestone.

I have bought 4. Merlot 123 (amazing) for $10 and then he put out two VERY high end offers for VIP only (lol) one cab and one pinot. Finally, bought high end #138 "estate reserve" from same producer as one in the 80's people really raved about.

If anyone gets exclusive offers for the more expensive lots I’m in for a split (SF Bay Area preferred).

Lot 150 was an easy buy for me. It's exactly what I'm looking for in a dN offering ($12 for a quality Red Mtn Cab!).

I'm not in the VIP, need-a-big-ass-locker club, so $12 for Red Mtn cab sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

If Cam undercuts his significant milestone pitch by making it simply a marketing ploy and putting the better barrels into a later offer, I think that would be a big mistake and make it harder to trust any offer after that.

Countering some of the earlier comments, I have to say that Mickey has been fantastic to work with and his customer service has always been as great as I get from the other board favs. Thanks, Mickey!

I managed to hold strong and pass on this one too - helped that two cases of Cab arrived today and I'm just very heavy on Cabs that are going to need a few years. Offer looks tempting but as others have said - space is now gone, so have to ration my exuberance!

Countering some of the earlier comments, I have to say that Mickey has been fantastic to work with and his customer service has always been as great as I get from the other board favs. Thanks, Mickey!
Just want to corroborate this positive experience with dN customer service and in particular Mickey. (Though Cam himself once replied to and solved a delayed case issue for me around the aftermath of the Black Friday sale.) Mickey has been frankly outstanding, having gone above and beyond for me more than once. As a not entirely low-maintenance customer I am a very happy with de Négoce.

Though I'm on a buying pause, N.150 sounds great and the price is right and I’m sure folks will be happy with this wine given Cam’s track record.

The stumbling block for me is that it’s 2019 and I’m sitting on a mountain of mostly 2018’s that still need lots of time in bottle. Adding to a staggering backlog of “don’t touch these yet” wines borders on insanity for me now.

I am not quite cutting myself off, but similar to others, it’s going to take something extraordinary to get me off the sideline at this point. That said, I’m always ready to be moved.

Agree. Mickey has been great to work with and has helped on multiple occasions.

If anyone gets exclusive offers for the more expensive lots I’m in for a split (SF Bay Area preferred).
Me too (happy to split)!
