Update: Did anyone happen to get a shipping notice on Monday for the Pinot? I didn’t…
Sigh, nope. Signed up for text alerts, too. Guess we should hope to just randomly receive it, like others here have.

Nope...love domestic Pinot, but have never enjoyed Carneros.
Carneros?

Guessing he updates people on the shipping in the offer email whenever it comes out.

Ah, got it-- thanks, Matt.

Len, we were referring to No 19 (Santa Cruz Mountains) earlier. But whew, not a fan of Carneros Pinot at all, either. Got me scared for a sec!

I received an email for OG24 at 414pm PT. Curious if there is a staged release of the emails...

He stated initially the earlier you sign up, the sooner you get an announcement email so maybe?

Yah I can confirm not true. Got a 4:10PM in the "new" email address I signed up for a couple weeks ago. My email address from April came same minute.

I pulled the trigger on the No. 24. If its Truchard, its a heck of a bargain. If not, I'll likely gift it.
Sadly, I think I am up to 3 cases all of which will arrive at the same time.

My question is will the success of de Negoce cause a downfall in the quality from CHWines?

I think I am done. I have four releases from coming from Cameron. I bought a chunk from Bedrock today. Have some Winebid orders coming, plus Saxum. That’s plenty for the Fall. Passed on Alban and Carlisle.

Cameron fixed the website and now you can't search for wines so the fun of finding the wine before it goes on sale is over.

Edit: It still works for a friend and works when I'm logged out, super weird. Just not when logged in.

Was asked before. I like to think it's for Original Gangster since Cameron is the OG of bulk wine.

Seems strange to use a vernacular term for high-end wine, but certainly a plausible expanation.
Also, maybe "Over-supply of Grapes?" champagne.gif

Just wanted to throw out there that if anyone in the Bay Area (SF/Mountain View vicinity) is interested in some splitting some cases or making some trades, let me know. I think I'm about 8 cases in at this point 😅

Also - for those of you talking about the change to the website. The answer is that the browser caches the website, so if you've had the old version of the website up in your browser, it might take a bit for the cached version to get updated. If you want to get the new version, do a hard refresh of the page or open it in a new browser. If you still have the old and want to keep it, don't close the tab on your browser. Just keep returning back to the same open tab and try to avoid the page reloading. It will eventually refresh, but you might get a few extra visits 😎

Because CH is the original gangsta! Perhaps CH giving himself a shout out for having done this type of thing back when he launched chwine.com? Like he is OG!

Indeed he is. But, then, the original “Cameron Hughes” label should be the OG! Maybe this should be “New Jack Cuvée?”

I noticed that the SCM Pinot order is being handled by Wine Country Connect (WCC). Has that been the case for earlier offers? Regardless, this is a good move by de Negoce to partner with WCC in some capacity.

WCC are the guys who were behind wine.woot and now casemates, as well as other direct to consumer ventures, I'm sure. They know what they're doing with wine logistics, though shipping in the summer is always going to be a dicey issue.

One of the reasons, aside from selection, I've moved away from flash sites/sales is the summer shipping issue, since there's no way to time the shipment. I'm glad CH is now taking on the summer storage issue since if there isn't a decent weather window, I'm just not going to risk buying.
Greg

In that way, he is like cornerback Darrelle Revis, deserving of his own island, Mangold Island, if you will. “That would be a rusty, filthy island where people wear ripped jeans and stay in hotel rooms that are half price,” tight end Dustin Keller said. “But they would serve wine, and only the finest for Nick Mangold.”

I want to keep buying but I'm out of space and not willing to do the offsite storage. Someone ITB should setup an LLC, buy and then repackage and ship in 3 bottle sets. I'd definitely pay more for a smaller size.

Yup, mine showed up today. Its pinot, its a little warm on the palate. seems shocked needs time. Based on the acidity level alone its not Mt Eden, Rhys, or Fogarty. Or its at least not typical of the wines they make.

I'd love it if Cameron had an option to mix and match (i.e. still ship only cases, but can buy 6 of one offer, 6 of the next, kind of like Garagiste). Of course, he has no incentive since he's selling out as is and doesn't need additional operational complexity at the moment!

They already having a bunch of customer service issues can you imagine the mistakes that will be made if you can build custom cases? lol

Sorry to nitpick, but I'd classify their issues as operational. Sounds like for the most part customer service is on point. I'd much rather them have op issues than CS issues.

Nicely found! I guess I saw sold out and thought 22 was already sold. Forgot last was 21.

Since we're pretty sure we know who made #21 looks like #22 is also a buy.

Thanks for the update. Is the acidity high or low? Too early to tell whether it's a quality wine worth the price?

I see the # of OG went from 26 to 27 but I can't find it!

Nicely found! I guess I saw sold out and thought 22 was already sold. Forgot last was 21.

Since we're pretty sure we know who made #21 looks like #22 is also a buy.
It's on. 290 cases.

My #19 came today. Corks seem to be synthetic, but I haven't pulled one. No judgment one way or another, but definitely different than every other release I've recieved (10+).

I'm in. Likely Robert Craig and 70-120$ juice that is highly reviewed across all vintages/SKUs.

Interesting that all of RC's cabs seem to come from a single AVA whereas this is a blend across multiple AVAs (including "Napa Valley" near Atlas Peak). Not really sure what to make of that, I'm sure it's still fantastic and great QPR (if RC is correct)

Yah, guessing this is a one off wine with de-commissioned grapes. Remember the whole point of this exercise is 2018 produced a ton of juice and they simply don't need it all.

Does RC have a Prichard Hill vineyard?

They only get 85% of their grapes from estate owned vineyards.

Yup, mine showed up today. Its pinot, its a little warm on the palate. seems shocked needs time. Based on the acidity level alone its not Mt Eden, Rhys, or Fogarty. Or its at least not typical of the wines they make.
Thanks for the update. Is the acidity high or low? Too early to tell whether it's a quality wine worth the price?
Its on the lower side, not the acidity to you typically see on those top producers. I will reserved judgement for a few months and then properly review... Its not bad at the moment. Certainly no ripe cola flavors or other industrial nonsense is a good start.

For all of you who are hoping that these wines are 'identical' to a specific producer - it sounds like CH is purchasing wine and bottling it himself, not relabeling something that's already out there. And therefore it could be 'overages' of a specific blend - OR it could be extra wine that didn't make the cut for a specific producer's product line. So if a SCM pinot does not have the same acid or structure one expects from a specific producer, it does not mean it is not from one of said producers at all. Something to think about . . .

Cheers.
