#1 has been great. Sadly missed #11 today but was able to get #13. Excited for these wines.

Man I passed on #11 even though I was there in time and now I'm having non-buyer's remorse! But if I had bought it I'd have buyer's remorse since I'm trying hard not to add to my inventory! I think I need a wine therapist

I'll reiterate if anyone is in / around the Greenwich CT area and wants to do splits on some of these I'd like to try more of them without having to buy whole cases. Only one I've bought so far is #8

These wines all sound incredible for the money but I don’t see that much if any has actually been tasted.

I was only impressed with a couple of the maybe 20 different C Hughes wines I’ve had over the past few years.

What makes you think these 2017s will be any better?

Many people have had #1 and #2 and there hasn't been a negative review yet. I think this biz model is very different and with his direct to consumer by the case approach he is delivering higher end wines at lower prices. That said, I've never had a single C Hughes wine before this venture so I can't compare.

I am not looking for them to be "better", just solid considering the price paid. So far CH has over delivered.

It’s an entirely different model. Much of the CH portfolio is aimed at the “value” sector. DN is based on a model of premium wine at a value price. Direct to consumer.

He is definitely taking advantage of the oversupply of premium bulk wine that’s in the marketplace today. It seems to be very well received by his sales to date. Fantastic business model. This is somewhat of an opportunity right now that may not present itself in future years at the velocity that we see today. Keep up the great work Cameron, you have a lot of fans here

Agreed. Also, it probably takes only one bad release to undermine the trust and destroy the business model.

By then we will be at offer No 45, 3 months from now, and it wont matter at that point if the model falls apart, the mission was accomplished.

de Negoce is now the highest quantity label in my cellar (between received and summer hold). Based on reviews thus far excited to try them when they settle.

Yah, that's the risk. It was all a scam. Ship the first 4 bottles, have them all be amazing, sell 40 more with summer holds, and then...vanish.

I am not concerned about that. lol.

btw, drinking #3 now. The stagecoach cab franc. It's amazing too.

That's all I have in hand. #2 and #3. I had #1 held and didn't buy the Merlot, #4.

I'm already in for 3 cases. The only thing keeping me from loading up on more are (1) storage logistics, (2) unproven brand (to me) despite a fairly high degree of confidence, and (3) having my friends and family all asking each other, "Why is Nate always serving that wine? Is that the only winery he buys from?" (i.e. unbalanced cellar). I'm sure I'll be buying more eventually, though.

From the TTB record N.16 is a 2019 Carneros Pinot Noir. Any thoughts on the vintage?

I don't need any Rose, but the blend of N. 14 is basically the type of Rose I'm into. Damn, de Negoce is strong.

I agree.... 2nd Rose I've bought... 3rd wine overall.... I bought the first Pinot as I'm light on Pinot at the moment... Skipped the cabs as my cellar is very cab heavy....

Similar boat. Obviously I’m hoping it will either be excellent weekday drinking or even great for entertaining. For $13-18/bottle all in with shipping, I think its too good of a deal not to, considering whats available in that price point. Perfect cellar defenders.

Come October, I will need to find a place to store all of the cases coming my way. Currently its out of sight out of mind for storage, but will become very real as it gets closer.

per the denegoce website, release 15 (a 2018 Napa Merlot) is "sold out," without even an email announcement. I doubt this is true - maybe the deal got cancelled, or it's just a placeholder for an impending announcement. It's different from all previous offerings in that when you click on the link, there is no description of the wine, while all other sold-out offers still show the wine's description.
