With so many mix ups, between shipping, cases not adding up and wrong alcohol on the wine, how many mix ups do you think there will be with the wrong wine being in the bottles? Between a large number of barrels from different producers in somewhat ambiguous barrels, and then trying to match up particular barrels to particular labels.
Welcome to the thread!

Rather unlikely. They are bottled individually over different days over different months. I doubt if more than 2 or 3 have ever been bottled the same day.
Well, this post was was rather fortuitous. See post with picture a few posts up. Looks like a mix up did occur. My box shows N.72 with a bottling date of 10/01/2020, but half the bottles are labeled N.72 and half N.60.

So, do I have 6 bottles of N.72 that were mislabeled as N.60? Do I have have 6 bottles each of N.72 and N.60? Or is it a different wine?
Ask Cam. But I would think you have 6 of 72 and 6 of 60.

Some more wines from COLA. Seems that #111 changed to Tempranillo now instead of Syrah.

#76 2018 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 14.7% ABV
#80 2018 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 14.8% ABV
#107 2018 Yountville Petite Syrah 14.9% ABV
#110 2018 Fair Play Petite Syrah 14.8% ABV
#111 2018 Fair Play Tempranillo 15.1% ABV
#114 2019 Fair Play Tempranillo 14.9% ABV
#115 2019 Carneros Rose of Pinot Noir 13.5% ABV

Cam really does seem to have bought a lot from Fair Play.

Has anyone seen or heard what 100 may be? Cam previously said he likes to commemorate special numbers with special wines.

Cam - I've seen a few times in separate emails that No 50 was supposed to ship (including on Wednesday a notice saying it would ship on Thursday) but it still hasn't. What is going on with the timing on that offering?

Also, any word on when we can expect No. 77 and No. 82 to ship? We're going to be moving soon and would really like to get these wines settled here before the move.
I have a label printed for 50. Hasn’t moved yet though.
N.50 is en route - N.44 still with printed label.
Got shipping notices for 50 late last night. Still nothing on 24, 77, or 82.

The wines from Fair Play AVA- somebody mentioned earlier Shadow Ranch...seems like a good fit:

Anyone else still waiting on OG #1? A while back, they said that they were working on a “solution“, but the last couple of emails regarding shipping have not even mentioned it.

Nate, I got an email sent late on 13 November saying in part "I apologize, you ordered a case of OG N.01 and unfortunately this is out of stock. We would be happy to honor your order with a shipment of N.17, which is actually a more expensive Cabernet Sauvignon, at the same price. Alternatively, we can refund your order." I responded immediately after I saw it, requesting a refund for the case of N.01 and the Summer Hold fee paid on a later order. They said they processed the refund, but I've only received a "Refund notification" from DN and credit back to my account for the $5 hold fee. I sent another email early Thursday morning asking about the refund for the case and ... crickets.

I appreciate they are busy trying to get wine shipped but if I don't have the credit by early next week, I don't see an alternative to disputing the charge with my credit card company.

Sorry for the delay gentlemen...we've finalizing an inventory this weekend and then we will get back to you...sorry for the lack of comms. I am hopeful we will have enough wine to solve for the remaining orders. Thanks for your patience.

Opened #69 Merlot last night. Lame. Thin and tannic. Not much body. Day 2 not much better. Even at 20 bucks a bottle who cares. Maybe down the road it will get better but not now. Love me some good merlot like Helen Turley’s classic Pahlmeyers, Robert Foley Merlot or Pride but this doesn’t compare.

I’m not a Merlot fan so did not purchase #69, but considering that it was bottled October 1(according to the website), it would seem you are panning it rather early. [thumbs-up.gif] You might see what it’s like 3 months from now. [cheers.gif]

All you cult members and your "bottle shock". Anyway, I also did not purchase #69. The two cases of Merlot I got are plenty for my tastes.

Had #11 yest and #2 right now and both amazing. I'm going to my off site Monday to bring home a dozen or more to start finally sampling some others. Can't wait.

My condolences to that infanticide of OG 69 Merlot. These releases are before many wineries would typically offer wines. Cameron cannot operate like a winery and hold until normal release dates. It's your wine do as what you see fit, but have reservations as a buyer when these big red wines are reviewed as "this is what Cameron is providing- super market level quality meh".

Cam,

Adding when you think drinking window will open on website, ala Carlisle, would be a huge service knowing these aren't all shiners and shock is a real issue.

Also don’t want to debate bottle shock, but I do find it funny that one tries a recently bottled wine that’s not showing well and “oh it’s definitely bottle shock,” but if it does happen to show well then “this was an amazing wine that will definitely only improve!” Basically, if a wine is good, then it’s good; if a wine is bad, then you need to wait. This.

I have opened 8 different bottlings straight off the UPS truck. Zero issues with "bottle shock", and all have shown really well. Favorite so far has been OG No20

I hate bringing up the bottle shock debate again, but this was bottled on October 1st. YMMV
I’m in the wrong business...
be careful the cult will get you. I made this comment before and was told I am a hater

Emphasis on YMMV. Personally, I haven't opened a bottle within 3 months of bottled and I don't place much weight on reviews (good or bad) that have.

Jonah,
Mentioned this about OG 8 before: Trinchero Cloud's Nest is a better fit at $95/ bottle, the "St Helena" portion is from Mario's vineyard. But some folks don't want to believe. What matters is that wine is a good bargain and drinks well for purchaser.

LET THE FUN BEGIN BABY! Brought home 4 mixed cases (16 different wines) to drink over next couple months (3 bottles of each). All early # stuff.

I see that this is listed as Anthem. Isn't their Mt Veeder cab $125?
Not sure if he changed the offer or if Anthem raised their prices (lol) but this was not a conflict in the past when I sourced it as Anthem. There are numerous pages on why I think it's Anthem but clearly now that it says under $100 and it's $125 on the website, yah, not nearly as likely. I can't find the old listing.

I will in the tasting thread, starting tomorrow. Excited.

Meanwhile I drove with the trunk open for 4 miles and as I was pulling onto highway noticed. Nobody bothered flagging me down to tell me. Imagine if de Negoce killed someone? Luckily the wine was all in the trunk.

In for a case of the #16 based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews from a number of people on this forum. Not sure how much it was before, but $10/bottle is nothing for what some of you described as the best SB you’ve had in ages.

Same! I was hoping this would be one of the ones he would post more of. I missed it the first go round, as there weren't any reasonable guesses on the source. After reading review after review about how amazing this wine tasted I've been kicking myself since. No more!

That excited to try the de Negoce that you forgot to shut the trunk?

I will have the OG 7 PN with turkey this weekend. Cheers, Tim
