Any thoughts from anyone on Wine Access” recent Editorial offer? Looks like juice from Caldwell Vineyards.
There is a WineAccess forum discussing it

A friend who knows had two of the wines, a SB & a Cab. He said both freakin’ killed.

We had lunch together today.

Do you know which cab? I assume the SB was #16, sine the other was summer hold only.

So far these seem to be “as advertised”. Solid buys at a minimum and great QPR. Hopefully the last 20-30 offerings that have been summer hold only live up to/exceed the ones that have been tasted.

You should really get on that. When I was looking earlier this year I was told by a lot of places that they are at capacity and not taking any new clients.

Matthew, the Off Site breaks down the shipping boxes & you provide cases?
My experience with Off Site storage was a nightmare, the wine locker would be 74 deg at times, complain and it was "going to be fixed". Finally, I built a wine cellar in my garage in 2008, complete redwood racking with 45 columns 20 bottles high 2 deep. 100 magnums included as well. Floor storage for 2 bbls of wine (50 cases) +. Use 12K BTU unit and wine Stat controller.
Hope your experience with Off Site is better than mine.

I actually don't know any of these answers but it's brand new state of the art. I am very curious how they take the deliveries. I'm not worried about the temp given the age of the facility. I am worried how or who breaks down the 35 boxes! I will probably negotiate that ;)

I have a wine closet in my house, but not enough room for all these de Negoce's.

But I am passing. I have no interest in a sub 14% wine. I'm sure it's great but an easy pass for me.

I'm going to guess that the source is Lost and Found winery, with Geoff Kruth as the sommelier-turned-winery owner. They do microlots with a lot of one-offs, so even though I don't think they've released a cab franc, it doesn't really rule them out. I think the ethos could fit the low alcohol/low production, and they have produced wines from sonoma mountain before.

Geoff Kruth’s Lost and Found did come to mind, but I think Pax as suggested by Timmothy B has a more consistent history of doing big wines with low ABVs. If its' either I'll be very happy. Geoff's The Nines PN I tried earlier this year was delicious

Lol MatthewT. The neutral oak and low ABV were key selling points for me. Group is in for 3 cases, and a full case for me personally. Can't believe you passed on this one, I do think you are going to regret it as this one is totally different than all the others. You should reconsider before it sells out.

And now that CH has done his "screw the East Coaster's" offering, I do fear the "screw the West coaster's" offering, will be setting some kind of alarm/alert for late night de Negoce emails.

Strongly suggest you find an offiste that takes deliveries for you but sits on them, and waits for you to collect them. You don't want to be granting access to your wine locker to folks. I go once a month, collect all my boxes, rack them in my locker (only I have a key) and motor on.

I'd love to try a few bottles, but Loire Cab Francs are already ridiculously cheap, and a known quantity. A Garagiste offer from a few days ago was Domaine Guion Cuvee de Deux Monts at less than $20/bottle. The minimum purchase was one bottle.

Wind Gap made modest styled wines typically using carbonic maceration. Quite the opposite of "Pax" wines that morphed into Donelan. I swear Cam's Lot 67 RRV Syrah was sourced from Pax from Cam's description of the wine.

Daniel Lost & Found possible for sure.

I feel like if Geoff needed to get rid of cases he could easily do so. In the past, he's managed to sell quite a bit of some of his offerings through SommSelect and I feel like he could do so again at a better price than Cam offers, but who knows?

A bit surprised this isn't getting more love here. I guess we wouldn't here if we didn't like new world style wines, but we do have to mix it up a bit. Also, let's not pretend that this will drink like a classic loire CF. I usually go for the California trying to do france vibe. It's got some acid, but it's still fun. I feel like Cam did us a solid by dropping this late to make sure the wine nerds had time to pounce.

Haven't had much experience with Cab Franc, so not sure I want to hop in for a case. The lower alcohol definitely is appealing, but the unknown varietal is too much of a risk for me.

I am torn on this one. I like the description of OG N. 03 (Miner) CF better than this one, but would love to try. A little hesitant due to high acid and sour cherry in description.

Not disagreeing with anything you say and I buy Guion and Baudry every year period. I also love Cab Franc from CA. @Ian Brand makes a couple of nice examples in very opposite styles. Different animals. CA is always going to cost more than most imports other than Burgs so I accept that and enjoy CA Can Franc and buy from local producers. I know Ken Zinns says Harrington was just getting started with CF, but Cedar Crest Vinyard Cabernet Franc was exceptional. The volcanic soils just really come through and give that wine a great minerality and uniqueness among its peers. Serious Juice. Local Producer down the street from me sells great CF (Burrell School) as well. So I think this offer will be well received and I'm thrilled to see the first De Negoce wine at sub 13 (have they offered anything under 14?)

Cheers,

The remaining inventory trick isnt working for me, curious if someone else has checked remaining case count?
75 cases left at 12:35am EDT
Down to 60 now. Perhaps it will sell out before ET folks wake up

"More love?" it is already 70% sold out after only 2 hours into a well-after-hours announcement.

This one ticked all the boxes for me. Low ABV. Neutral oak. Not cabernet sauvignon.

In for a case. No brainer.

He said "here". I think I counted more passes than purchases on the board. Definitely a cooler reception than usual.
