This is pretty cool. Not sure if/how it can be cooled, but still very clever:
There was a thread on this two weeks ago:
He built in a thermometer but no temperature control.
as I opined, the article said that the temperature monitoring assured the wine remained in fine condition. Didn’t need a cooling unit! The thermometer is enough.
A friend in London has a spiral underground staircase wine cellar.
This comes as a unit. You dig a hole and install it. As you descend the staircase wines are shelved on the outside. There are lights etc. Of course, this works best in cool climates.
But it holds a lot of wine and is not that expensive.
Oops, I missed that. Mods can merge, or delete this thread if they like.
Trippy.
Why would you want your wines being shaken up whenever someone walks up or down the stairs? Vibration city!
That s the beauty of the spiral starecase. It loves you more every day and you only use the stairs to retrieve bottles. Otherwise your wine stays cool and vibration free.
