Excellent $25 white Burgundy

2017 Bernard Moreau Bourgogne Blanc. Had this with dinner tonight. Beautiful wine. No, it isn’t Montrachet. But, I cannot remember a $25 Chardonnay I enjoyed this much.

Moreau’s 17s are fantastic! Love those who enjoy a simple Bourgogne, not just Montrachet’s or Musigny’s.

Was like $18 too.

Drouhin Vaudon Chablis under $25 and a decent drink.

Great price. Cheapest I have seen it is $25.

Dan knows a guy who knows a guy.

Nice one, Howard. I heard about this one from a friend in Meursault (rented his place, actually) - he said that Moreau did well in 2017 and really enjoyed the bourgogne. By the time I found it here in MA, it was closer to $35. Oh well - still a nice wine even that that price!

There’s some bizarre pricing on Free Wine-Searcher right now.

CA, $15.67/bottle [via case of 12]
CA, $18.12
DC, $24.99
MI, $39.99
CA, $39.99
NY, $44.00
DC, $44.99

At the extremes, you’ve got a ratio of $44.99 / $15.67 = 2.87

Even pre-tariff/post-tariff arbitrage can’t quite explain a ratio that large, can it?

Maybe there are two slightly different wines involved here?

Howard, could you chime in on which of those ones Nathan found are, or are not, the bottle you posted about?

$25 at Bassins in DC.
