Somlo vineyards Weinlagen
Great! It was cool to check how my favorite vineyards (Aranyhegy, Apátsági-dűlő and Grófi) are apparently all on the southern side of the volcano! Thanks.
This is interesting in Somlo. How can a tiny appelation be on all slopes of the vulcano? The wines must be very different.
They must be. For the most part the only single-vineyard wines I’ve had have been from the southern side of the volcano. As a whole, single-vineyard wines don’t seem to be a thing in Sómlo, at least not yet, so I can imagine for the most part the wines are blended from vineyards all around the volcano.
