I have never seen Angerville’s Bourgogne Blanc before, so when I saw the 2017 I picked one up to give it a shot.
This was, in a word, shocking. Unfortunately not in the good way. The nose is a face full of butter and oak. The palate is a mild improvement, with some minerality balancing out the heavy butter note, but this tasted like a California Chardonnay to me (and not the good kind of California Chardonnay). Really a complete mess and a total disappointment. Will be sticking to their Volnays going forward.
