One of our local favorites is selling some of their cellar. They change their list frequently, so it is not very deep.

I bought a bottle of the Ceritas cab last week. I am on the mailing list and buy the chards but have never had the cab. For $98, I decided to get one. It is a little more than retail so not a deal, but I did not have to order three of them.

Bought half a case of JM Seleque Solessence from a local spot.. after tasting it tonight, should probably double that order...

Krug @ $125 is the best deal I’ve seen so far in Houston.
Can they ship?!
Doubtful but someone from Texas chime in. I thought they had some tough shipping laws.

Doubt they can ship legally. The law was relaxed to allow local sales by restaurants. But I don't think it allows them to have full-fledged retail operations w/ shipping.

Been going on around me for over a decade. Great hard to find limited production allocated wines at below release prices. It’s a beautiful thing

I've heard of Spruce selling from their cellar at a decent price in SF.

Any other San Francisco folks hearing of other restaurants doing the same?

Progress did, same as Manresa. Spruce's pricing was kinda high, higher than retail

Some restaurants in nyc were selling their wines for retail or slightly below retail prices. It wasnt worth my time going out to them especially if I have to wait on line.

MN still can't sell wine from restaurants. Lobbying to do so but I would be interested to see pricing. Who would pay more than you could get it form a wine shop!

Somewhere like La Famiglia with an extensive aged cellar could be exciting, but agree there aren’t a whole lot of places like that.

One small group of restaurants here has created an on-line store with one of their suppliers with the wines at normal retail price. Apart from offering delivery, the interesting thing is that this basically exposes their markups. Savvy people would have had a good idea previously anyway but this probably widens the knowledge base on this.

Looking at all of these related trends, I wonder if the restaurant business will be able to revert to business as usual (sell food at cost or a loss and survive on massive wine and liquor markups).

There is a restaurant in San Francisco, Prairie, that has turned itself temporarily (hopefully) into a small grocery, also with cook at home kits. Too far for me, but would be interesting if I were local. Lots of places doing similar things, I hope they make it.

Aria in Atlanta is selling their wine at half price. Not necessarily a huge number of bargains but there are deals to be found and there are also some wines that can be a little challenging to find in the local market.

That’s a nice price, even better than wine.com; would’ve loaded up.

I’ve found quite a few deals; mostly recent vintage champagne for wholesale or a bit less.

Lot of places in Dallas doing half off of their list or at reatil pricing. I have not seen anyone go below retail quite yet. That bring said - some really good food options for buying meat and groceries.

Reached out, they're doing 50% off anything listed 400 and less, individual negotiation otherwise. If anyone is interested, you can PM me your email and I'll forward along.

Couldn’t resist and snagged 4 for myself (I think that was their limit per person). Regardless, they sold out in a few minutes.

Also, not that the deal wasn’t already sweet enough, turns out these are 164eme!

Nice, I can never have enough 375 of krug. I thought a couple cases of 164 halves was enough and they only lasted a couple years.

Grabbed a 2013 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo from RPM for $135. Thought that was a steal - apparently so did the guy who bought a case right before me, I got the last bottle. Picked up a few other things that were a little below retail but nothing crazy.

I offered out a number of wines including 2015 Rockford Basket Press at a great price. Sales went off, was a real surprise. And then a number of customers looking for other vintages.

Small (but super awesome) restaurant here in town. They had one bottle on the list at a normal price of $699, and they are discounting during this time of craziness.
