NOSE: ripe, dark red/purple fruits; smoky; oaky; sour oak (tertiary); hint of wet cement.

BODY: fairly youthful color — violet color of great depth with a hint of bricking throughout; medium-full bodied.

TASTE: flavors mirror the aromas: very ripe fruits; oaky; surprisingly good acidity (for an '03); big; alc. is noticeable; Drink Now and over the next 10 years. Ashley’s gut impression score: 89, which is same as my long-form score, below.
