TN: 2016 Rhys Horseshoe Syrah

From 375. What a lovely wine - soy, bacon, limestone and blueberry fruit on the nose. Nice slinky texture, lovely balance of minerals and blue fruit on the palate. Still young, but drinking great.

My favorite Rhys wine. Every year.

How much air did you give it?

Popped and poured. It didn’t last more than a couple of hours and didn’t change much. No harsh edges or tannins, so was enjoyable from start to finish. Stupidly, I decided to focus on Pinot and Chardonnay and not buy much Syrah - mistake in retrospect.

Jud,
Smart move to buy these wines on futures in 375ml. Wish I had thought of it myself.
I’ve never been much of a Syrah fan, but the Rhys Horseshoe is a superb wine.
