  • 2017 Cristom Pinot Noir Marjorie Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills (3/22/2020)
Decanted 3 hrs. Clearly, this is a much cooler vintage than the last several as it has a much lighter feel on the palate with no shortage of density or grip. Classic Cristom, this sports its spicy strawberry core around very well judged oak (75% French?) that creates a mildly exotic experience, lots of baking spices. Acidy is higher than normal, or probably more accurately, more discernable, and this comes across as very fresh. A bit tight, so better to wait in normal times. It’s not normal, so no regrets. Excellent. (93 pts.)
