From a value perspective, I’d go Anne Gros Echezeaux and wouldn’t bother with any of the others.

I can’t speak to much of that list but I would jump at the Meo Clos Vougeot.

Bachelet’s 2017s turned out brilliantly and will offer broad drinking windows, warmly recommended. The Cathiard 2017s are similarly exquisite and in the context of contemporary pricing for that domaine’s wines, why not. And the Hudelot-Noëllat 2016s are great, adapted to extended cellaring if you have the patience for it.

My favorite producers on the list are Bachelet and Hudelot-Noellat.

But the sleepers in the group IMHO are the Ramonet reds. These wines seem to be going up in price (unless you can buy out of Burgundy) and getting harder to find over time.

H&Ns (all of them), Ramonet reds, clavelier Combe brulee

To be a contrarian, where are all these producers going to sell their wine if the bottom drops out of the global economy in 6 months? Not to mention retailers. I for one, am waiting. The old saw of “you can’t catch a falling knife” in the stock market does not apply when this is a guillotine.

HK / China / Japan market still very robust for producers such as these. It’s things like Mâcon and Beaujolais that will tank.

While this most likely will be what happens, we are still in the early innings of both the pandemic and the economic crisis that may well result in a worldwide depression. And if that does happen, I believe all bets are off as to what holds prices and what collapses.

Valid point in all things today, but I have a rather large credit that I would like to use. So help me me spend some “money”.

+1

If you are trying to just take advantage of deals, I’d wait 9 months. It’s gonna be a bloodbath out there. Think about the effect that every fine dining restaurant in the world shutting down will have on the price of wine.
A

I have a bunch of $ on credit. I don’t want to wait with uncertainties todays market, bird in the hand and all. I was offered a nice discount and these are some of the better choices.
If anybody is really bored locked up at home I can send the full list and help me sort through. [cheers.gif] Big listing of white burgs too.

13 chave @ $200
16 clape @ $125
16 Jamet @$150 ect
Are some choices too.

Both Groffier Chambolles and Ramonet white are good deals

no Ramonet whites on list.

Hudelot Noellat, the Suchot especially.

Just caught that… the Rouge prices are about retail

The cheapest I see on wine-searcher for the 2015 Morgeot is about $90 and the cheapest for the 2016 is $100.

Any 15 Jadot pleasers in here?

2015 Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares $280
