  • 2010 Bodega Dominio Buenavista / Veleta Nolados - Spain, Andalucía, Vino de la Tierra Contraviesa Alpujarra (2/15/2020)
    Love the balance and presence on this wine. The Cabernet Franc leads the way with red fruit and herb elements. There’s a bit of green pepper, in a Loire Cab Franc way. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes in next, with deeper fruit, and solid structure. The Tempranillo dances around the two Cabernets, with leathery, earthy and spicy tones. I had a bottle of this a while back, and didn’t quite get it. Spending more time, and focus on this bottle is a rewarding experience. This is fabulous value, and has the fruit and structure to evolve for several more years.

Interesting. I still have a bottle of the '08 I think, have to give it a try.

I have only ever had the ‘10. Will be interested in how the 2008 shows.

FYI, it’s showing more Cabernet Sauvignon notes tonight.

This is a really strong wine, especially at the price point.

This is the insignia wine of our winery. Juan named it after his two Nola’s, me and Nolita.
