Dom. J. Voillot 2012 Volnay 1er cru Champan

Valentines’ dinner at Lucky Palace Chinese in Shreveport, La. Very clear, but slightly light color with the slightest fading on the edge. Moderate but pleasing notes of sous bois, and crushed blue and red fruits. Really a delicate but really nice nose. Medium body, but with plenty of fruit, including raspberries. A really pleasing and delicate wine. Just impeccably balanced, light, and fresh. Tannins are very fine and mostly resolved. 92 points.

As it opened up over an hour and a 15 minutes, (and warmed from true cellar temp, a rarity st any restaurant, much less your typical Shreveport Chinese joint), it opened up a tad bit more. Still a very elegant, balanced, and somewhat light a spurs red burg. Quite nice.

That wine list is amazing. I’d eat there every night if I lived in Shreveport, and I have no idea if the food is any good.
