Is there a difference in taste between bone-in and boneless for the NY steak?

Have had both and don’t see a difference, but my dog does when he gets a leftover bone

Bone-in is about how much/less you like your meat cooked. The meat next to the bone shields the heat more so it will stay less cooked and stay more juicy. My preference is no bone because i hate cutting the meat off the bone.

Hmmmm. Not sure whether I qualify. I received an email, but I didn't think my card was actually compromised since there were no fraudulent charges on my card (maybe that just means not yet!). Rereading Bryan's post, it looks like I should request a new card. Crap. I just went through this with my business card!
I guess "yet" was correct. Just found out I had about five or six fraudulent attempts on my card in the past two weeks or so. Canceled and new card on the way. Not sure why my card company didn't give me a heads up on the attempts.

Personally, I like bone-in since it's less likely to overcook, IMO. Ended up getting a dozen KC's to last at least 2 weeks if need be. Here's to a T-Bone tonight! [cheers.gif]

Anyone else having trouble logging in?

I often forget passwords but I tried them all and the "forgot password" link doesn't work. Was able to get in a couple days ago.

Put in a big order this weekend...not only classy move given the credit card thing but humanitarian move given how terrible the grocery store situation is. Will support Flannery in the future indefinitely as a result. I was first time customer berserker day.

Dana there has offered to have these cut to order in the past. I was surprised at how many folks selling craft beef online will not actually cut to order like that, so kudos to Flannery for the excellent customer service. 20 and 24 oz strips are my favorite thing they do - I enjoy it about as much as Japanese A5 at a fancy restaurant.

Popega'd some NY Strips on the Weber tonight (fast shipping as always). Pretty much perfect steak as always + some great Barton Orchard wines. Salt, Pepper and Flannery = Awesomeness even with 0 prep and talent. Tonight, we flipped it around and enjoyed the lovely and vibrant Bates Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon as an apertif and then paired a very serious 2018 Semillon with the main course.

Talk about making lemonade from lemons. Kudo's to Flannery and the Berserkers.

I've been following the cooking directions on the website. Direct Heat on the Weber. For a 1.5" NY Strip 10 minutes on one side and 4 on the other. It comes out a perfect medium rare. So easy.

How far back was that Flannery purchase?
Ryan, Stan and Virgil.
Trying to see how far back the numbers have been stolen, as I still have a card used 13 months ago and 20 months ago.
The card I used for a purchase 13 months ago , was compromised yesterday. Citi noted 3 attempted charges and contacted me and cancelled it.
Never had a problem with it before. The card was was not stored on their site.
Be careful about old cards used even over a year, it they still had a valid expiration dates.

Did the same with a couple CA NY's last night. Tender, juicy and flavorful.

Nola,
They completely revamped their website after the breach, so I’d be really surprised if it was from Flannery.

As everyone knows, Bryan runs a top notch customer service based business...got my 8+8 NY strips this past week. They also helped me manage a freezer failure issue when I got back from Maui.
Great people, and I’m glad we’re all supporting them.

Now...just gotta pace myself with the grill... 😅

I got a text alert from AmEx about a charge on the card that was compromised with the Flannery purchase. Weird part is that the last five numbers on the card were from the old card that was compromised, and not the last five of the new card issued as a replacement. I checked my Amazon account, and there was no record of the charge - even called Amazon and they couldn't find it either.

Called AmEx and disputed the charge, and they flagged it as fraudulent.

Just strange that apparently AmEx was spoofed on the origin of the transaction, since it did not come from Amazon.

I would recommend that everyone set alerts for 'Card Not Present' transactions, not the first time it has flagged something suspicious for me.
My avatar is a twelfth century Berserker Lewis rook, from the British Museum. "He stands armed with a sword and exposes his huge teeth with which he bites into his shield. It is this gesture that identifies him as a Berserker – a fierce warrior drawn from Norse mythology that bites his shield in a self-induced frenzy prior to battle."

My credit card was hit Friday night. Chase caught it immediately and new cards are on the way.
Was that from a new purchase from Flannery? Or from before?
Before.

Excited for the new sale on all CA Reserve steaks! Picked up a few more, as well as some of the new Kali burger blend. Gotta keep the fridge stocked during these times. Thanks again Bryan and Katie!
