13 Calluna Merlot Aux Raynauds

Interesting bottle, this wine is very young but not without allure.

I spilled 1/2 into this weird, spiral, 375ml decanter I bought by mistake and left the rest in three glasses for BBQ chicken thigh dinner.

This is a very elegant wine with prominent tannin still, great mouthfeel. Five years away is a rough guess. I much preferred the glass from the bottle rather than the decanted wine. An hour + in the decanter seemed to tamper the exuberant aspects of the wine and somehow make it softer and even more elegant.

I’m glad I have more.

That vineyard yields some of the most perfect fruit I’ve seen.
And the wine follows that kind of quality.
