TN: 2017 Domaine Denis Bachelet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes

  • 2017 Domaine Denis Bachelet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin (2/5/2020)
Wow! This is as good as a Village wine can get. I love Bachelet for his wines’ purity and trueness, and this has so much of it in spades. This wine is absolutely delicious right now and so wide open. It makes me wonder if I should even lay some down. But, of course I will! For now the wine is light cherry and sweet earth in a way only Gevrey can be. The texture is fine, the wine is weightless, and absolutely pure. I finished this bottle rather quickly and have been thinking about it all day. (94 pts.)

Nice.

Sounds delicious! Thanks Charlie.

Where’s the like button, nice note!

Very nice.

Want.

hopefully the next day, unless you drank it early one morning.

Been really enjoying the 17’s, both colors.

I am drinking 2017 Dujac MSD 1er. It is also a purist’s dream. It needed a scant few minutes to wake up, but it is so nice. It has only been opened for 55 minutes while I am making demi so I get to spend quite a bit more time with it. Note to self, be glad I have a decent amount of 2017s coming.
