This was opened after purchasing a few bottles from Wallys and it was reportedly well stored. The cork was a touch moldy, but the fill was good and the cork came out easily and did not disintegrate.

We gave this a good 2 hour decant and then served it with steaks for dinner. Ruby wine with slight orange on this rim. On the nose it was very musty, but this blew off over the course the dinner and yielded to red fruit and earthy notes. Tannins were still noticeable and this wine was just hard to drink that evening.

I left it in the decanter until the next day, and it improved quite a bit with good fruit, and the drying tannins from the day before really softened. This wine still has life, but even at 30 years old it needs a long decant. Still very drinkable.
