15 liter sqn inaugural at upcoming auction!

anyone care to guess at the hammer price?
anyone care to guess how many people it takes to finish it, and not end up hospitalized??

Which auction?

Acker’s February 7 auction. It’s lot 409. Estimate is $40K - $55K.

There’s a lot of large format stuff at that auction, including methuselahs of 1996 Dom Perignon Rose, imperials of Yquem, etc.

It’s one of those lots that could go unsold or hammer for twice the high estimate.

Can the auction winner pick it up via helicopter? Asking for a friend.

15L = 20 bottles of wine, say about 2-3 people per bottle so you’d need around 50 drinking people to make it worthwhile. If it goes for $50K then that is about $2.5K per bottle or $1K per person.

I have absolutely no mercy with anybody who thinks needing THIS …

I was told by someone familiar with the consignor that the bottle has been pulled

Time for a home equity loan!

No longer deductible. But if the bottle is big enough to live in you may be able to apply for a regular mortgage.

Wonder if it was corked!

I love SQN, but this is an exceptionally good one. This must be supremely rare. Wow. Why would one sell it?

If I owned it, I would prefer the 55K to the bottle.
