TN: 2016 Monastero Suore Cistercensi Coenobium Lazio IGT

Still quite fresh, and fun. This blend of Trebbiano (45%), Malvasia (35%), Verdicchio seems to be in the same proportions each year - and that’s a good thing, as it’s consistently worked for me across those years. A shimmering color of light hay, with lovely white floral notes that sit atop a base of white and yellow fruits. By the second glass, the minerality is trying to catch up to the intensity of the white floral notes, but it never quite gets there. That said, on the palate, it’s sheer joy on the med(-) body, and its med/med+ finish. Some may like this cooler, but I prefer it ~ 50-55F. Drink now thru 2023+; 12,0% abv. This is in the market now for ca. $25 USD, so I will be reloading. recommended+
