TN: 2001 Isole e Olena Cabernet Sauvignon Collezione de Marchi Toscana

I’m an idiot for having just one bottle of this, and now, it’s gone (tears, lots of tears). Cork/fill in vg condition; color pours a medium ruby, quite bright and clear, and rather aged claret-like. Medium body that gains a minor amount of weight after it’s first opened, with tannins that haven’t yet fully resolved. Which is to say this is right in my wheelhouse, showing solid structure, with still fresh secondary and tertiary attributes. Classic Cabernet Sauvignon flavors and aromas that show a base of soil notes that resonate subtly in the background right through the final glass. Brilliantly judged, very pure, and quite long on the final. Bravo! 13,5% abv., best with 60 minutes of aeration, and should be consumed in the next 5-8 years. highly recommended for fans of the classic, restrained style of this variety.

Sounds great. I have only had the 2013 and loved it. I need to open a 2014 soon.
