gift cards do not qualify for cashback in my experience. you can qualify for cashback on a purchase made with a gift card though.
ok. My amex offer will expire before weather will be cool enough to ship so I wanted to get the $30 off $100. It's been high 80's/low 90's and probably won't be less than mid 80s for at least 5 months. Didn't see an option to hold for weather on the checkout page.

Unfortunate that wine access doesn't have a policy of holding wines through the summer. Way too hot to be shipping now for me and a lot of other parts of the country.

How do folks get the $100 off $250 from WineAccess? I signed up, but haven't received anything yet.

This is not correct. I placed an order around Labor Day last September. It was held and shipped towards the end of October.

Directly from the WineAccess website,

"At Wine Access, we ship every offer in temperature-controlled vehicles (with digital thermometers located inside the shipping containers) and check weather patterns for heat waves, storms, and cold snaps to ensure no case is ever left in an environment where extreme temperatures are present. If that means holding wines for months, that’s what we’ll do for you."

Randomness. I would try adding something to your cart and see if that triggers the promotion or you may have to buy something to receive the promotion. I've received the promotion a couple of times over 5-6 years.

Got the $100 off $250 coupon from wineaccess. With the $50 Amex deal, I got 2 bottles of 2012 Bollinger Grande Annee for $57.50 each. And free shipping.

I feel like I stole these bottles.
You did. Please send them to me to rectify the situation.

Too late for me, but thanks for pointing that out. Mine are shipping today from NY and will arrive tomorrow or Friday latest, and the highs are barely supposed to touch 70, so I am ok with that. Next time I'll ask about a hold though.

Another feature of Wine Access that I just discovered.

"100% Satisfaction Guarantee
Everything we do is all-for-nothing if you don't love the wine. Any bottle that fails to deliver an extraordinary experience is on the house."

I've received three small shipments so far from Wine Access. 2 of them were shipped in styro with ice packs and arrived cold (including one during high 80s weather). A recent order didn't have any styro or ice, but I received one bottle from NY and one bottle from Napa, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it (but I don't think temps ever went beyond mid 70s). Generally, I've been extremely happy with their customer service and shipping.

If people need a small dollar bottle to get over a wine.com threshold for promotions or whatnot, I can recommend the Saget La Petit Perriere Sauvignon Blanc. It's just Vin de France but is mostly Loire / Sancerre grapes and is lemony, crisp, fresh. I've had plenty of middling SB that cost 2-3x more and were less satisfying than this $10 screwtopper.

I wish they shipped in styro - took delivery yesterday of 2 x 12 Bolly that only took one day to get here from NY, but the cardboard box was quite warm even though the wines themselves were not. Highs were mid-60s, but this time of year anything 60+ with direct sun will heat those trucks up.

Big problem with Wine Access is that they price their wines way high. I can’t pull trigger even with $50 off of $250 on Amex.

I've found that a lot of their Napa/CA wines are priced competitively (sometimes even very much so), except for back vintages. The pricing of their other wines seems more hit or miss (more misses). I also believe that they get all of their wine direct from the wineries, which is nice.

Hi All -

I'm new here so apologies if this has already been shared, but I have a shareable code for $50 off $150+ on your first purchase from Wine Access. It's stackable with the AMEX offer others have referenced so you can get $200 of wine for only $100. Code is david_127 for the $50 off $150. Hope that is helpful for some.

I feel like WA Margins need to be substantial.

$100 Customer Acquisition
Amex offer
Now they're doing 10% off the first year (If you spend $1,000 in the first year you get $100 credit.)

I just noticed my Unico shipped out of Miami. Not happy about that..
It's funny how I mentioned that they shipped wine out of Sacramento when it was 95F, you mentioned that they just shipped out of Miami, but all people want to talk about is how to get the next deal.
I learned that they ship out at night, not midday, so its not like the wine is sitting on a FedEx truck at 4pm in the blazing heat. On more recent orders, I'm making sure its showing a 2 day delivery time, which indicates its being shipped out of the local warehouse. I'm not worried anymore. I've never had an issue with cooked wines coming from them. Will double check the Unico though this weekend.

It's $50 off of $150 (which you can do 3 times on separate orders) plus use a referral code from upthread for another $50 off. (the referrer will also get a $50 credit)

For example, you don't think 2012 Bollinger Grande Annee at $130 x 2 = 260 - $100 in credits and free shipping for $80 delivered is a good price? [thumbs-up.gif]

Gotta stack the credits to make it worthwhile, and then you get some real steals. Didn't make sense to me at first either.

Is there a special code for the Amex discount? Putting my Amex card into the payment screen didn't generate an additional discount.

You have to add the AMEX offer to your card in your online AMEX account. You will get an email notice from AMEX that you triggered the offer almost instantly after the order goes through at Wine Access. That's how it worked for me yesterday.

Correct, you just go to the AMEX app or online and activate the Wineaccess offer. Then once your wine ships the AMEX credit I've found hits several days after automatically. And you can do it 3x!

Maybe it's the Covid grumps, but I'm increasingly annoyed by the need to triple check that the prices aren't inflated BEYOND the amount I'd be saving.

I've enjoyed getting a few "steals" (Hi La Rioja Alta for $22!) but by and large, the dopamine boost of seeing how much I've "saved" is not worth the hassle of trying to prevent being overcharged... or being REALLY interested in something only to find that even WITH the coupon (and free shipping) that you're paying well over the avg retail. That's just angering.

Just charge a good fair price. Don't make me work to avoid being overcharged the RULE!

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer or simply restate concerns that have already been raised. I do really appreciate everyone sharing the coupons

Juts have to poke around. The lowest WS price on the 12 Bollinger Grande Annee is $125; wineaccess has it for $130. Take the discount and get free shipping and it is a pretty sweet deal even without the WA coupon

It's hard to know because you are often buying multiple wines, using a promo, paying salestax but not shipping. If you try to compare to another retailer, it's unlikely they'll have the exact products you're buying. Even if they do, then you have to consider the impact of promos/tax/shipping on totals. Agree that it's a huge PIA.

I've been making progress on the wine.com shopping assistant I'm working on (a side project for me that you can find an unpublished chrome extension here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... kpbmgmmamf). It'll automatically applies promos and one feature I'm working on is to compare the total price to the average of other retailers with some estimates for tax/shipping. I'm pretty confident that the 50/150 or 100/300 promos + StewardShip will be hard to beat.

If you have any ideas for how to do a real apples-to-apples comparison, let me know and I'll add it.

I generally only buy things I’ve priced elsewhere and know they’re a good deal. Sometimes the 10% off coupon is good too. I bought a bit of DRC from them for a pretty excellent price; between 11% back in MR points and a decent starting price, it was pretty excellent, equivalent of ~1300/btl for 14 richebourg. The Drouhin Laroze Beze and Krug 168 Have been good too.

Wineaccess shipped everything in great condition, so +1 to them. I think I used Tyler's referral code so hopefully he got some credit.

Wineaccess just put up some 2010 Rauzan Segla under the limited time offers section - with the Amex 50 off 150, and the 50 off referral code, you can get 2 bottles for 105/bottle including NY shipping+tax. 2016 Pontet Canet is also on the limited offers section for 179/bottle, which comes out to ~115/bottle all included. pretty darn good.

Already had a Wineaccess account set up through someone's referral sometime last month - forgot who but thanks!

Picked up the 2010 Rauzan Segla mentioned above along with 2003 Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey 375ml for $39 (not the best price but wanted something close to $31). $170.25 after NY taxes, instant $50 from Amex to $120.25 along with 10% Cashback from TopCashback for a total of ~$103

My referrals below :)

I'm pretty confident that the 50/150 or 100/300 promos + StewardShip will be hard to beat.
It's really not that hard to know. A calculator and W-S pro can give you an accurate answer quite easily, and most of these are not rare wines for which it's difficult to find a comparison.

I agree on your last point though. With those deals you are almost certainly getting the best price, it's simply a question of by how much.

Yes, if you are buying just 1 or 2 wines, then you can look them up in winesearcher, then find the retailer that sells them both, determine that they ship to your state, determine whether they charge you sales tax and what the shipping costs are. Then you can compare that to the wine.com price with salestax plus coupon code plus external promos. It's effort, but I agree that it's doable. It can be automated without that much effort.

But what happens when you buy several bottles of wine? It's likely that no other single retailer happens to sell all of those wines. It's not fair to find the lowest price bottle from different retailers unless you also include the multiple shipping charges and that will always kill you. This is my personal experience. Usually picking up 6-12 unique bottles of cellar defenders. You could of course approximate by averaging shipping/salestax costs across the low-price retailers, but that's just a kind of false precision.

I'm hoping that just using average prices and approximations for shipping/sales tax is good enough to eliminate the "am I being screwed" question.

Yes, they said to send them screenshots (and I also have the emails stating offer is activated). But I'm working on a tool that automatically applies the best promo codes + cashback offers (in addition to finding the best qprs, etc.) and beta testers are complaining that retailmenot isn't crediting them. To be fair, it's actually only 44 days for most of them, but I'm skeptical a bunch of money is going to show up tomorrow.

Have any of you reliably received cash back *without* having to chase them down?
What was the end result of all this? Did the portal ever pay out?

My feel is that for many of these kinds of businesses the model is in fact to make collecting hard, so they offer unsustainable rates, and simply deny / reject payouts.

Thanks, I used this and my last $100 off / $300 coupon to buy 3 more bottles of the ‘12 Roederer Brut and another bottle of the NV Billecart-Salmon Champagne Brut Rosé. If I actually get the 20% cash back, that takes the ‘12 Roederer all in price (free shipping plus tax) to $44 per bottle, and the Billecart-Salmon Rosé down to $47.50.

I had to hound them. But, seriously, where do they get the 20% to give as cash rebates? wine.com isn't giving them that.

What code for $50 off $150? I also can stack amex 30 off $100, can use 3 times.

Wine.com has the 2015 Figeac for $229 on sale, darn good deal if you toss in that $50 coupon and the free shipping.

Wine.com has the 17 Tawse Mazis on their site, kinda pricey at 289 but with the coupon can get it below 200 which seems like worldwide low.
