It’s like crack although more expensive and maybe more dangerous.
With the free shipping and no sales tax you can get some crazy good deals and I haven't tried any of those cash back deals. Waiting for '16 Insignia to show up at a reasonable price but even at $299 with $100 off and free shipping comes in $20-$30 below the best prices out there. Would need to add budget wine to the mix to get it over $300.

Btw perhaps the best deal on wine.com right now is the la Rioja Alta 2010 selection especial at 32.99; you can get 8 bottles and a bottle of bedrock evangelho for 200 shipped with stewardship atm.

Michael, you are very fortunate to be in an apparent "sweet spot" for getting wines from wine.com. Your current recommendation and some of your previous nice scores are unavailable to me (FL or MA) . This is probably the case for other people too, but please keep your suggestions coming.

Krug rose 375 is a very good deal (buy 2 for $320 with $100 off its $220 or $110 each).

Salmon Rose for $80 x 4 $320 -$100= $220 or $55 each.

2016 Accendo $350 - $100 for $250

I've basically used the $100 or $300 every time it has been available
2016 Ornellaia plus NV Krug 375
2015 Shafer Hillside
2015 A Conterno Cicala x 2
2016 Dow VP x 2 plus 2015 Macchiole Paleo
2016 Ornellaia ($50 of $200)

Each time the totals were a little of $300 and the discount brought it down to around $200 plus tax and free shipping
I don't know whether to thank of curse everyone posting these codes but I have a feeling I will keep using them
The mark-up here are significant but the discount brings them to below WSP best pricing with some cushion if you are selective.
Delivery is also fast.

They make the Krug non-rose unavailable for coupons or that would be a go to (has a 7 for AZ shipping).

Does anyone have the 15% off Total Wine coupon that they send out when you move to a new address?

They regularly have 20% as well at least once a month. Are you signed up for their club? All the deals are in the winery direct wines.

It does matter where you live I believe based in state lic. Happy to post the next one I get.

The 15% off coupon im speaking of works for any 750 or 1.5 wine bottles not ending in a “7” They usually send these coupons out in the mail when you move to a new residential address. This has been the case for me when I moved to a new place in CA a few years ago and Las Vegas last year. The coupons they send out these days aren’t as good, they only work on “winery direct” wines and you usually have to purchase multiple bottles.

Thanks, that's what I thought too. I picked up a few of those Ardanza with one of the codes mentioned.

It feels like this is some effort to get people to sign up for StewardShip, and then once they have a bunch of subscribers in that, turn off the coupon codes. Even with free shipping, the deals don't look so attractive if there is no discounting.

be sure to check your credit card statement! i used one of the $100 coupons posted last month and although the invoice i received showed the discounted total i was in fact charged the pre discount total. it took more effort than should have been required to get the difference refunded.

Normally wine.com mark up the price 10-20%. Lets say caymus they selling at $89.99, other site is $75. Maybe their invoice price is $40-$45

They're relying on their name and that most people aren't going to shop around. Most of their "deals" are on the order of 10% off so people think they're getting a deal but really they're just getting it for around what they would buy it from another online site, if that. I don't know where people are finding all these $100 off $300 codes but if everyone used them that would definitely cut into their profit. Most people probably aren't buying $300 of wine though so a small hit to their bottom line and they're still moving inventory, probably higher priced inventory with those codes. Up until now I've been using this deal about once a year when I get it in the mail at the end of the year. I'll make an order then another through my wife. I've usually used it to buy the higher priced bottles that I only get one or two bottles of. Hillside Select, Pontet-Canet, Insignia, etc.

With stewardship and the 100/300 coupon wine.com is about 25% less than any other source for stuff like Krug 168 375s, so that’s what I’ve been stocking up.

This. Without the 100/300 coupon wine.com isn’t close to competitive, except maybe with Zachy’s. With the coupon and careful selection some of the deals are the best I can find.

You definitely need to check wine searcher before buying at wine.com. they are normally pretty competitive on new wines especially after using the always available 10% off coupons. I found their pricing on bordeaux futures receipt competitive with everyone. But once you get beyond 2 years from release date, it starts to get more noncompetitive and bigger coupons are needed.

Just depends. Krug halves at 60 a pop delivered is definitely better than you’ll find elsewhere. Ardanza especial and bedrock ovz for ~20 delivered is also very good.

Here’s a decent Bordeaux combo
Chateau Canon 2010 $159.99->$113, WSP $135
Chateau Troplong Mondot 2010 $179.99->$127, WSP $144-$179

Definitely not a wash on all the things I've bought. I'd say pricing is more like 10-15% above W-S best pricing, so after a 1/3 discount, and with the stewardship shipping offer, those items are coming in well below W-S best all-in. Obviously careful selection is necessary, but I've found no shortage of excellent buys. Quite the contrary, I've been tempted to buy way more than I would otherwise, especially as threats of tariffs continue to loom.

Agree with this 100%, if you pick the right bottles this deal is tough to beat with stewardship membership.

I would strongly agree that careful attention to how the pre-discount price compares to the marketplace is essential to getting a great buy. If you do this and cast a wide enough net, the deals can be excellent, tempting, and difficult to say no to. I'm trying to learn to "just say no" but as you point out, Michael, it is difficult.
