I activated it. I believe the exp date is end of this month. I have to check.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Thank you, Brendan.
This is a fine pair of high-end 2016 Brunellos to pick up (with this coupon and RMN's 10% cash back) for a little more than $100 total:
Il Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino 2016 WE98 $94.99
Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Brunello di Montalcino 2016 WE97 $61.99
(Kerin O'Keefe has recently given them stellar reviews for Wine Enthusiast.)

I also received my Wine Access amex credit today. I purchased 3 different gift cards to receive the allowed use of the offer credit 3 times and each transaction a credit was granted.

Is the problem that it doesn’t appear under “Credits and Promotions”? If you click the link do you see a yellow banner at the top of the page that says $100 off your next $250 purchase?joe d. wrote: ↑April 7th, 2021, 7:20 amI've tried and tried but i can't get the $100 off $250 in my account. Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Bummer. I was worried that might happen after I posted it, but it was 2 years old so...
Here are three $50 off $150 that I believe are still active and will work for existing accounts...unless you've already used them:
http://wineaccess.com/2020
https://www.wineaccess.com/?_ke=eyJrbF9 ... %20Winback
https://www.wineaccess.com/accounts/red ... n=N&next=/
Here's one for $50 off $200
http://wineaccess.com/newsite
And if you're new to WA, and want to create an account, here's a referral link to $50 off your first purchase (I get $50 off, too):
http://share.wineaccess.com/v/matt_52
In addition to the above, look for Tyler Rico's posts, where he's shared multiple 20% off coupons. I don't have any of those.

I placed an order with WineAccess so someone should be getting $50. I then went to place a second order and none of the $50 off worked for me. Thanks anyway.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
You can only use codes on raise if you buy one of the "Discount Gift Cards". If you try to buy a "Cash Back Gift Card" there is no option for codes. If you buy a discount gift card you'll see the promo code option (on the far right side of the screen) at the last step of checkout.
Note: even though the code is for 5 off 50, you can still use it for a gift card with a nominal value of 50 that has already been discounted below 50.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
There is also a Raise code "Lucky10" for 10 off 100. Likewise only good on "discount" cards and not "cash back" cards. But with Raise currently selling wine dot com "discount" cards for 4% off, using these codes on top of that discount is a better deal than the usual 6% cash back deal. Note that unlike the code above, this one seems to require a 100 purchase price, not just 100 nominal value. Still a better deal at the moment even if you have to kick up your purchase to get it over 100.
If you don't have already have a Raise account, more on how the Raise deal works to save you an extra 6% (or more right now as just discussed), with a referral code for an additional savings opportunity, in post 2608 of this thread:

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
I would point out for berserkers going the Raise route that if there are ever real issues with WDC fulfillment, one has mostly given up the possibility of a card chargeback. That last resort is most effective when its the bank vs. skeevy vendor. When one is trying to resolve a problem, and gc were involved, one has given away an important alternative (i.e. chargeback) to a negotiated solution.
The incremental advantage gained vs. new downside seems like a bad bet to me. WDC isn't a vendor I would trust with either futures, nor gc exposure.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
This is a good point, one that I have considered and generally use credit card, for at least Part of the purchase. However the counter this is that they're pretty quick to make things right at WDC. Giving out gift cards and coupons when issues arise. Because they're such a large company its rare that you'll be in a truly negotiated situation like you would with most smaller retailers.Arv R wrote: ↑April 9th, 2021, 8:28 pm I would point out for berserkers going the Raise route that if there are ever real issues with WDC fulfillment, one has mostly given up the possibility of a card chargeback. So far I have mixed it up and purchased Raise coupons when I feel like it. But using the CC is the safest measure.
As far as futures go, I think this is negated by the fact that most CC companies have a soft two month's for chargebacks. Some, up to a year. However the longer it goes, the less leverage they have and it needs to be more a more egregious issue. Almost all futures orders are longer than 2 months and many are over 1 year. You're pretty much at their mercy regardless. So I wouldn't order futures from them ever. Plus they're rarely eligible for discounts.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Sure, I agree. But my point is, that they Do make things right. I don't think that these low level employees on chat or phone make an determination on how to treat a customer based on whether they paid with a CC or GC. They're too big. It's likely just an overall company policy to keep everything good.
Most of us here are in the 1% that beat their system. But they likely just consider it spillage, or cost of maximizing profits on the other 70-90% that generally pay high retail on their wines.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
When they've needed to make something right for me, they've always done it whether I paid with cc or a gift card. Zero issues with them making things right. I've never even had to come close to threatening to dispute a charge. I see very little if any additional risk in making a wdc purchase with a gift card if it's for in-stock wines, though it is of course accurate that you don't have the dispute/charge-back arrow in your quiver if you use a gift card. I purchase Raise cards with 1% Rakuten cash back and charge those purchases to a 2% cash back cc. That brings my cost to just below 92 cents on the dollar for the normal Raise 6% "cash back" cards - and it's even lower when deals like the ones discussed above come along. That's a pretty steep vig to give up just to keep the charge-back option, given their track record of making things right when they need to, but of course everyone's risk tolerance is different.
Futures purchases are a different risk, of course, that's a bet on them being around 2 years down the road. A policy of always making things right doesn't do you any good if they're not still in business and the chargeback option is more valuable IMO for such purchases.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
One odd consequence of their enormous size: Mainly because of the coupons shared here (and the miracle of StewardShip), I find myself ordering wine from them frequently, 2 or 3 bottles at a time, rather than by the case as I normally would elsewhere. Surprisingly often, the wrong bottle is shipped to me, and customer service is always very apologetic and helpful; they get the right wine shipped out immediately and they NEVER ask me to return the bottle that was mis-sent. (Maybe that's related to the pandemic--maybe no one wants a bottle that was mistakenly sent to, and handled by, some stranger.) In any event, the bottles sent out accidentally have usually been cheaper wines of no interest to me, but the other day I received a surprise bottle of Sassicaia Bolgheri ($230/bottle) that I hadn't ordered, but the customer service agent just said what they always say: no, it's our mistake, don't bother returning it. I don't think a smaller retailer could survive on this business model...JoelD wrote: ↑April 10th, 2021, 6:37 amSure, I agree.

I’ve been told multiple times to keep bottles. Maybe it depends on state or proximity to the warehouse?
