Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
There are so few decent BDX wines in the wine.com TX warehouse. There are 1 2017, 6 2016, 2 2015 and 1 2009. A total of 10 BDXs to choose from! Fortunately, one is 2016 Pontet Canet at $175. With a $50/150 coupon that brings it down to $125, then use a Raise 6% cash back gift card and 20% RTM cash back to get an all in price around $102 (with Stewardship shipping). Thank you to those who are posting their coupon codes. I have no idea how you find those. I only get codes for 10-15% off.

Thanks Michael! I use EVrewards.com to see who’s giving the best deal but RMN isn’t listed. Anyone know of a good site that aggregate all the cash back deals and bonuses from the portals?Michae1 P0wers wrote: ↑February 13th, 2021, 8:27 amI think you're looking at Rakuten. Welp, I've now exhausted all the good coupons. Now that we've wiped out their Bordeaux I'm finding the most of interest in the Spanish section. Here are some good combos for anyone still playing that hit the brakes ASAP past the coupon thresholds
2007 Tondonia 375ml + Hidalgo La Gitana = $51
2012 Vina Real = $53
2007 Tondonia 375ml + 2012 Atauta Llanos del Almendro = $154
2007 Tondonia 375ml + 3x 2012 Ardanza = $155
3x 2007 Tondonia 375ml + 2007 Tondonia 1.5L = $205
2x 2016 CVNE Clasico = $58

Does anyone know with regard to WineAccess, if someone creates a new account can they use one of those 20% (21%/15% etc) off discount links on their first purchase and still trigger the $50 credit benefit on the second? TIA

Just go to raise.com. You can buy gift cards for wine.con for 94 cents on the dollar. They also have 10% off promos for the first purchase for new customers. I only use gift cards for wine.com.JoelD wrote: ↑February 13th, 2021, 2:07 pmWhat is this Raise cash back gift card? If you have links on how to get one, please post. Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
You can buy gift cards on Raise.com, for many stores. They come in two flavors, "cash back" and "discounted." The "discounted" cards sell for a bit less than face value but occasionally Raise will run a promo with an extra discount. For wine.com, these are rarely better than the "cash back" cards. You will probably get a "first purchase" offer, though, that might be worth it.
On the "cash back" cards, you pay face value but get a percentage as a rebate you can use on your next purchase. For wine.com, the percentage has been 6% for many months. So you buy a $200 gift card for $200, then every additional $200 gift card is $188-189.
You can also get Rakuten cash back (even if only 1%) on your raise.com purchase, so that's another couple bucks off the cost of the $200 gift card. Plus, of course, whatever cash back or points you get on the credit card you use.
If you're not already a Raise or Rakuten customer, and decide to join, please use someone's referral code. If not a friend or family member or someone else who's actively participated here, I offer mine. I think Raise gives us each $5 if you do, but Rakuten is more - $25 each today on a periodic promotion, $15 most of the time.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
All the discounts will be saved under "Credits and Promotions" on your account. They will be used in the order WineAccess saves them. So, I am not sure which would come first, the $50 or the 20%, but I assume the $50 would. Just FYI, right now on my acct., I have a $30 off $100 promtion, then the 21%, then the 15% saved. This is the order they will be applied.
If you need a referral for that first purchase ($50 off first purchase of $150), here is mine:

They sell a $6 corkscrew that isn't bad at all. Hinged lever and all that. Mine disappeared at one point when my daughter was using it at work waiting tables, so this made a nice replacement when I needed something to fill out those last few bucks of a purchase. Probably not something you'll want to use more than once, of course.Barry L i p t o n wrote: ↑February 13th, 2021, 3:08 pmIf you could do the same with Burgundy, I'd be thrilled! Maximum of $50 cashback on each transaction
I thought it was $50 in total. I did it wrong. If it's $50 per transaction, I'll buy the pricier stuff, one at a time.
And is the limit on the number of purchases, or the "number of activations". I've activated it many times, as I'm paranoid for not getting credit for things already in my cart, etc. so I put everything in "save for later", log out and log back in. Perhaps overkill but paranoia from times before of not getting credit.
ETA Here's the T&C's of RMN.
it of how many Online Cash Back Offers I can use or an individual reward maximum?
As of November 1, 2019, RetailMeNot customers can qualify for up to 7 Online Cash Back Offers per retailer within a calendar month, that will count toward the customer Online Cash Back overall calendar monthly total of 20 (not to exceed 7 per retailer). Offers also carry a maximum reward amount. Please review the following article for more details regarding any limits.
Nov 6, 2019
And
The first 7 cash back offers per retailer that move into a pending status will be the ones that count toward your 7 per retailer per calendar month.
And
A pending status means that you've clicked on the offer, made a purchase and we have been notified of activity from the retailer. The store notifies us when a purchase is made and then we work on processing the reward. For qualified/approved purchases you will see a reward in your wallet 46 days from when the purchase is made.

Yes. If today is the only day this month you use RMN, you could do 7 separate transactions and earn cash back of up to $50 on each.Barry L i p t o n wrote: ↑February 13th, 2021, 4:06 pm

At least, that's how I understand it. I have never done 7 in one day. I have at least once done more than one in the same day that combined to more than $50 cash back and I got the full amount of cash back on each.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Yes, and as I found out, using 20% and a $20 off $50 sounds great percentage wise, but I was stupid to use it on a couple of these (Robert-Denogent Poully Fuisse) as opposed to just using them all on Tattinger Comtes for $50 off $209, and then 20% off further. But it's only one bottle impact since I don't have too many $50 off $150 (the $50 off $200 is great here too).D@ve D y r 0 f f wrote: ↑February 10th, 2021, 3:02 pmThis is correct. I know it's not exactly convenient since the content is spread throughout this very long thread, but most or all of these "catches" are discussed somewhere upthread. Depending on the order, your coupon codes, etc. you can sometimes solve this problem by placing more than one order. Even if placed on the same day, you can place two $250 orders during a 20% cash back offer and get $50 on each, as opposed to one $500 order which will just get you $50 once. BUT there's a limit of 7 transactions per merchant per month.J. Handley wrote: ↑February 10th, 2021, 2:46 pm Know that the MAX cash back you can get from RMN on a Wine.com deal is $50. Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
I just saw this question, I missed when I replied before. Three points here -Barry L i p t o n wrote: ↑February 13th, 2021, 4:06 pm
And is the limit on the number of purchases, or the "number of activations". I've activated it many times, as I'm paranoid for not getting credit for things already in my cart, etc. so I put everything in "save for later", log out and log back in. Perhaps overkill but paranoia from times before of not getting credit.
1) It is only purchases, not activations. I have certainly had months back when the codes were coming fast and furious where I "activated" more than 7 times but only bought 7 times, and they paid on all 7.
2) I used to have a lot of trouble getting RMN purchases to credit automatically. In hindsight, I think it was because these were orders I place in June and July with delayed shipment well beyond 45 days to avoid the heat. The act of shipping seems to be a trigger in the system that notifies RMN of a purchase. But at the time I didn't know that and I had several e-mail discussions with customer service about what the problem could be that was causing my orders not to be automatically credited. One of the things they told me was to always have an empty shopping cart before you "activate" the offer or it could interfere with getting credit. Since then I've always done that. Passing this along FWIW since I've not tried this on an order for immediate shipment to see what happens.
3) The T&C say that it's the date it moves to "pending" that counts. So, for example, if you place an order in August and ask that it ship in September to avoid the heat, it will likely enter "pending" status in September and as the T&C read this would count against your September limit rather than your August limit. That being said, this does NOT seem to be what they do. In those same customer service e-mails, they said they always go by order date, and that has been my experience as well. So if you place 7 orders in August with September shipping, and another 7 in September for immediate shipping, all 14 will enter "pending" status in September, but they should pay on all 14 rather than just the first 7 to enter "pending" status. Again, recognizing that this is NOT what their T&C say, but it is what they've told me they do and it is what I've experienced so far.

I haven't found much in their Burgundy selection worth getting even with maximum coupon and cash back value, unfortunately. But that might be a regional thing. You could add a pair of your $49.99er to one of my $51/$53 combos and use the $150 code.Barry L i p t o n wrote: ↑February 13th, 2021, 3:08 pmIf you could do the same with Burgundy, I'd be thrilled! Thanks Dave, great addition. I used your link for Raise. There seems also be an extra 10% off promo code for first time purchase. You can't use promo codes on "cash back" cards, IIRC, so that may be the problem. But 10% is better than 6%, so use the promo code on one of the "discounted" cards they are listing (I see $100 cards for $97.84 right now) and see if it gives you a way to enter your code. Also make sure you check the fine print for the promo code - they often have a minimum purchase amount and/or a cap on the discount.
That won't give you anything toward your next purchase, but an immediate $10 off today's $100 card is better than $6 off your next $100 card, right?

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
With some gift cards from 3rd party resellers, you give up fraud protection, which was very common with older type gift cards. I know from experience regarding Hyatt cards, which I saw for sale at Raise.

Very good point Barry, I think I will take the risk for wine.com but for a lot of other retailers that would be something serious to consider. Especially when buying any wines with age and/or of higher valueBarry L i p t o n wrote: ↑February 13th, 2021, 5:30 pm With some gift cards from 3rd party resellers, you give up fraud protection, which was very common with older type gift cards. Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
I used a couple of the remaining 20/50 wine.com codes when the 20% RMN hit:
$52 for
2017 Beau Rivage Chenin Blanc Clarksburg +
2019 Cadre Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc Stone Blossom Edna Valley (trying this on the strength of their Albarino & GV)
$53 for
2015 Domaine Giraud Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tradition
For those so inclined, the CA store has a handful of decent Loire CB options - several Huet, plus a smattering of Taille Aux Loups, Joly, Vigneau Chevreau, etc.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Well, that's weird. My referral credit just came through so at least that first deal sounds like it worked for you. Hopefully the rest gets straightened out quickly.
I've never had any issues with Raise. I always buy any gift card there right before I'm going to use it to minimize any fraud risk. I guess I'm taking the chance with whatever unused balance I carry over to the next wine dot com purchase, but so far lots of savings and no fraud issues. Fingers crossed...

I was able to make a second account. So that may be where it came through from, not sure. I think it was because I was using a VPN when I did the first transaction. Probably raised a flag or something.D@ve D y r 0 f f wrote: ↑February 13th, 2021, 6:50 pmWell, that's weird. Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Ah, glad it worked out.
This raises another point to remind everyone about - if you're using a "portal" like Rakuten or RMN, read their rules and pay attention to disabling ad blockers, allowing cookies, etc. I assume VPNs may also cause issues from what Joel reports. They are paying you in part to give them marketing data (unlike a lot of websites that just take it and don't pay you) so be aware and follow their rules if you want to get paid.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Got one through, then they blocked my second purchase for a 200 card. They definitely wouldn't let me log into the account when I was on my vpn. Some of this can be more trouble than its worth. Not even bothering with the other site yet.D@ve D y r 0 f f wrote: ↑February 13th, 2021, 7:09 pmAh, glad it worked out.

This is kind of like credit card bonus points. A lot of people think you make your money rotating and getting 2% here and 3% there. But really you make it buy signing up for lots of cards and getting the sign up bonuses up front.

stacked that plus amex 30 off 150 to get:
1 Charles Heidsieck Blanc De Millenaires 2004
1 billecart salmon brut reserve(375)
for 128 total, all in. shipping basically included since I had free spots on the small transit fee I'm already paying for some auction wines

Wineaccess just released their 2018 Coombsville private label cab:
https://www.wineaccess.com/catalog/2018 ... #pdp-story
Sounds like Caldwell vineyard juice based on the smuggling story of all French cuttings (https://www.caldwellvineyard.com/Smuggling-Story), and it's $275 on their website for their platinum (https://www.caldwellvineyard.com/produc ... ietary-Red), although presumably these grapes could've been destined for any of their cuvees (or none at all)
50 off 150 referral code here for the one person on planet earth who still hasn't yet ordered from WA:

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
It's a crappy code as wine.com goes, but if like me you're out of the good ones and want to take advantage of the RMN 20%, it still allows you to beat market on those wines where their starting price isn't too bad.
RMN30WINE is $30 off of $250. When completely stacked (Rakuten 1% cash back on Raise to buy 6% cash back gift cards, use the gift cards to buy the wine with the code and the RMN cash back), you still net about 36% off of their list price (depending on the cash back on the credit card you used on Raise), which if you've already paid for StewardShip can get you some decent stuff cheaper than anywhere else. One way (my orders ship from CA, so this is based on that) to get to just over $250:
1 2018 Ridge East Bench Zin @ 32
2 2018 Coudoulet de Beaucastel @ 30
3 2016 Calluna CVC @ 33
2 2017 Monsanto CCR @ 30
Total $251, on which you'll net $158-$160 for the 8 bottles. I don't know anywhere else you can get those 8 for $20 each delivered, so the code isn't too terrible as long as it's a 20% day on RMN.
My Rakuten and Raise referral codes are in post 2608 just up this page if you're not already a member, along with some of the "how to" for Raise.
Update - as of midnight EST, Rakuten just bumped wine.com to 10% for Presidents' Day, but they still have Raise at 1%...

Still looking, by the way, for any codes for First Bottle Wines (other than referral codes, too late for that for me). Would be great to have 10 or 15% off to stack with the Amex offer before it expires, and while I wait for Amex to get around to me for a wine.com or Wine Access offer.

Thanks!
With Rakuten, you can get 10% in Amex Points at a point per penny. Folks in the points game tend to value Amex at 1.7 points (assuming you transfer it to airlines rather than use it as a statement credit). At that valuation, it's pretty close to RMN's 20%.

I don't believe this is possible. It's certainly against the rules in any event. "Activating" or clicking through one portal will "deactivate" the other. RMN allows and even actively encourages stacking coupon codes with their cash back, and Rakuten the same for the codes it posts on its site, but the opposite is true for stacking cash back and more cash back from multiple portals.Alex Frank wrote: ↑February 15th, 2021, 9:33 am Has anyone successfully double-dipped a Rakuten and RMN cashback offer on the same purchase?

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
The portals can be very finicky. Even using one of the other "coupon finder" plug-ins (like Honey), for example, will "deactivate" the cash back portal. I assume this has something to do with how the merchant website "tracks" and "credits" the portal/coupon sites, and thus pays them. If they don't get paid, they aren't going to give you a cut. Thus, it seems like it's always best figure out what wines you want to buy and what code you want to use in advance, then log out and start from scratch with an empty shopping cart, ad-blocker off, etc. Go to the portal site, click through the cash back offer to the merchant site, fill up your cart and type in your code without clicking on any other plug-ins, and complete your purchase.Alex Frank wrote: ↑February 15th, 2021, 9:45 am
