How to switch states at wine-access? also wine.com $38 for Geyserville with 33% discount. also free shippingKurt_L wrote: ↑January 5th, 2021, 5:16 pmThe selection varies a little depending on shipping state. Bevan Ont and Geyserville are still available in MD. WA was offering Geyserville for $36 if you buy 6+, take 20% off that and free shipping and it's a good price.

Yeah, wine.com is clearly better if you have promos, just saying WA prices aren't that bad. To change the shipping state click on the cart, then change the zip code next to where it says "shipping to"Jin F wrote: ↑January 5th, 2021, 7:17 pmHow to switch states at wine-access? also wine.com $38 for Geyserville with 33% discount. also free shipping

I'm curious, how did you get free shipping? Astor has some good wines, but typically shipping and regular pricing make even the discounts not such a good deal.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Jan. 7 Update: My Florida wine.com test is now up to 53 (and NY is up to 194). Who knows, by the time the next 50/150 coupon makes its appearance, there might be something worth buying on wine.com!A d a m S. wrote: ↑January 5th, 2021, 7:30 am News of possible interest to wine.com shoppers/coupon-hunters:
For those of you in states (e.g., Maryland) to which wine.com has been (temporarily, one hopes) shipping wine from its Florida warehouse, where the selection is quite meager compared to the New York warehouse--
I've been running a little test each day, searching for in-stock wines under $70 but rated 95 or higher. For states served by the New York warehouse, 168 such wines are available; for those served by the Florida warehouse, the number has been around 25-28 for the past few weeks. But in the last few days it has been steadily rising, reaching 39 as of this moment.
Not sure whether this trend will continue, but there's always hope!

Matt and anyone else: the wine.com referral counts as a coupon and thus can't be used with another coupon. That said, it is $30 off $100, so for a new user it would be better percentage-wise than the first two of these codes.MattG wrote: ↑January 8th, 2021, 12:06 pm Sharing working 20% off wine.com codes I haven’t seen mentioned:

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
That's an interesting perspective. I don't generally pay much attention to customer reviews--on vivino, cellar tracker, or elsewhere. I haven't found them reliable or enlightening. I agree that some of the pros can be untrustworthy (e.g., the wildly inflated scores sometimes awarded by James Suckling or the meaningless 98s and 99s handed out to cheap Italian wines by Luca Maroni. But a consensus rave review by several of the pros (RP, JD, JS, etc.) has often led me to some fine discoveries. And long experience has made me put complete faith in the judgment of Kerin O'Keefe, Italian wine critic for Wine Enthusiast--especially when it comes to Brunellos, Barolos, and Barbarescos.
But that's probably a topic for some other Wine Berserkers forum!

I think in general I get better review off CT. I couldn't care less about the scores, but usually there will be at least one tasting note that seems worthwhile.

Additionally, CT has no reviews for the 2019 and says drink from 2023. So clearly you have varying perspectives on drink now vs. hold b/w CT and Vivino.

If you like AR, you will like this wine. I buy 6 of it every year. It’s a bit richer than the clary and que but super delicious.Jin F wrote: ↑January 9th, 2021, 11:41 am2019 Arnot Roberts Syrah Sonoma coast Syrah having the best price at wineaccess, but is it a good Syrah? Also, for wine access, 2019 Arnot Roberts Syrah Sonoma coast Syrah is available at $36, great deal, below mailing list price and other retail. Even better with my referral link or coupons I’ve posted up thread.

Also, Vivino is confusing. It only has 1 review for the 2019 but the way they set it up you have to really look to realize the other reviews are different vintages. Maybe its just mobile. Also, pretty sure their rating only shows the aggregate of all vintages

I think Vivino ratings are by vintage unless they don’t have enough total reviews (and if I recall it tells you rating is not vintage specific when that happens). I find Vivino far less accurate than Cellartracker for whatever reason. My assumption is CT users are in the aggregate more serious about and experienced with wine.

cellartacker users french wine better than NAPA, vivino users NAPA is the best.John L Hall wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 10:36 am I think Vivino ratings are by vintage unless they don’t have enough total reviews (and if I recall it tells you rating is not vintage specific when that happens). Agree to disagree, then. I find vivino reviews to be almost always worthless.

My thought exactly. Opened a cab last night that had a 4.6 with 200+ reviews on Vivino. Overly alky disjointed oak bomb - even it you love huge wines it was excessive...Chris Crutchfield wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 1:57 pm Agree to disagree, then. I just read some reviews on Meiomi Pinot Noir on both CT and Vivino. It is fun.

Right now, I'm only aware of Envoyer being a merchant with Paypal Checkout as a payment method. Anyone know of any other Wine Retails who have Paypal as an option for checkout?
