In NY things have slowed down, with a lot of the new stuff being either mass market plonk, or expensive trophy items which are obviously targeted at the gift market. However, I'm still finding things I like here and there and I'm hopeful things will quicken up when we get to the post holiday clean out season. For now, one place to look, if you haven't already, is their Spirits section. In NY at least there is good stuff at prices somewhat below their normal inflated levels, and sometimes even better than that.

Donnhoff Kabi, Coudoulet, still several decent Chianti options, Muga, Ardanza, or even Antica Formula if you're running low ...

Donnhoff, Muga, Ardanza, PYCM (lots of this) Felsina, several 375mls of various stuff, new Spanish wines I've never had before. I have never had an issue finding something to buy on wine.com.

Wow, the CA selection is so much better than the FL warehouse. FL is pretty much a ghost town.

They also have Graham's 20 at $56, which becomes hard to beat after a decent coupon code and StewardShip.

So true. I come a knockin' at a few favorite "houses" and nobody is home! (no Sancerre, no Muscadet, no Kabinett Riesling, etc....) I spend the winter in FL from MA and it is quite shocking how poor the wine.com FL inventory is. Hope it improves after the holidays.Chris Crutchfield wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2020, 9:03 pm Wow, the CA selection is so much better than the FL warehouse. FL is pretty much a ghost town.

PSA for fans of sweet wine
In many states (but unfortunately not in FL) wine.com has half-bottles of 2011 Coutet for $29.99. A good deal at that price but throw on a coupon and maybe Rakuten and you have a very good deal.

Does Rakuten cash back work with the popular wine.com coupons? I can't remember what the consensus was.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
In my experience, the $20 off $50 codes will work with rakuten. The higher value codes will not work with rakuten, so I wait until retailmenot has a 20% cash back day.

Rakuten is working with all those coupons below, normally they will add cash within 2-3 days. If you don't see your cash back, you can go to Help>Missing cash back> they will add cash back Manually. Rakuten offers Amex points if you have amex card linked with rakuten, amex points is value about 2 cents per point.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
That has not been my experience of late. It used to be you could wheedle the customer service reps into giving you the credit, now they are very strict about using codes that are not on their site. While I understand you want to drive referral traffic to your links, we should disclose that only RetailMeNot has been generous with giving cash back credit along with the discount codes. With Rakuten, caveat emptor.

No problem, to be honest you put a lot more effort into your post than the usual referral spam so I appreciate it. Maybe it's a new policy on Rakuten's end, but I've gotten burned so many times over the past few months getting credited for Rakuten cash back that I've kind of given up on it. Not sure why you are seeing them crediting you for everything now.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
I had several wine.com gift cards ($300 all told) that I’d forgotten about, so used the coupon codes above and the rakuten 10%. Will be interesting to see what I get for cashback. I’ve not had great luck with Rakuten. Retailmenot came through with the 20% cashback for some orders I placed over the summer, I had to send them some more screenshots.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Rakuten usually pays promptly; RMN takes a bit longer and sometimes had required waiting until the 45 day period elapses and then following up. You can log in to your Rakuten account online and see all the "shopping trips" - I recently had a purchase on a non-wine site where I never got the Rakuten email but the shopping trip was listed. I contacted them and the cash was in my account soon after.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Vinfolio has Wine Back Rewards for orders placed till 12/31.
Over a chat session with a Wine.com agent, I requested a $100 off $300 coupon. The agent was fantastic and asked me to put an order. Once I did that, they then applied the discount. I thought it was really nice of them!

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Heads-up, that's the same price it always is. Bought a bottle in August at exactly that amount. WL almost never has sales, and when they do they aren't much to write home about. To be fair, that's because their pricing is almost always significantly better than the competition.Jim Stewart wrote: ↑December 30th, 2020, 12:37 pm This may be a good deal for someone: Wine Library has NV Ployez Jacquemart Extra Quality Brut on sale for $29.09.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
I don't believe they do referrals, or at least I haven't found a program on their site (which is pretty straightforward). Their free shipping is $100, so twice as much as Wine.com. That said, I've probably paid about $1/bottle for what I've bought from them. They are having inventory tracking issues, so if you buy a bottle and there is a limited amount remaining, you may not get that bottle and they will refund you or let you request something else. Current shipments are taking about a month.Adam Mintz wrote: ↑December 30th, 2020, 12:58 pmNever purchased from them before. Thanks for the insight. I don't think free shipping kicks in for their Champagne Sale-- at least my cart didn't show free shipping when I had over $100.Max S. wrote: ↑December 30th, 2020, 1:38 pmI don't believe they do referrals, or at least I haven't found a program on their site (which is pretty straightforward). Have StewardShip at Wine.com and based in California so not seeing a whole lot of value with the WineLibrary model since they ship from NY/NJ.

Re: Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping.
Sorry, not $100 purchase for free shipping. They have a free shipping program that costs $100 similar to Wine.com's Stewardship. So you pay the $100 and get free shipping on any number of bottles. If you're doing the cash back+coupons for Wine.com, that might end up being a better deal. I've been considering trying that when my current subscription is up.Adam Mintz wrote: ↑December 30th, 2020, 2:14 pm Thanks for the insight. Opus one 2017 selling in VIVINO for $320, they only ship to California. Topcashback.com offering 8% back for vivino that's $294 per bottle. If you're a new user with VIVINO, you can get 15% discount on the first order with my referral link(on the first page), That's $272 per opus one 2017(before tax) and 8% cash back with topcashback if you use shopping portal.
