So finally saw something on wine.cm but in reading the comments, seems like it's not a good idea to order until the fourth quarter (because they ship even if you tell them not to).

Am I correct on that?

Wine.com won't protect your wine if shipping in the heat, but they will hold your wine. If they don't hold your wine and ship it in the summer against your instructions, in my experience, they have great customer service and will make it right (I suggest using the live chat feature). I'd feel fine ordering something now to ship in the fall/winter.

Actually, I just got a response from Rakuten. They said they will not honor the Cash Back because I used a non-Rakuten code or discount. So these codes you all are providing are no good with Rakuten.
For what it's worth, I just got an automated Rakuten notification that my 10% Wine.com cash back was approved for a purchase I made on 8/24 using the "HELLOAGAIN50" promo code, which I don't see listed on their page. Maybe I got lucky and they missed it, or they just use that rule selectively to deny some purchases. I still refresh RetailMeNot every day to see if they'll reinstate their Wine.com cash back...
I hope so! They haven't shipped yet. And because I was so disappointed, Rakuten gave me some cash back.

Rakuten app seems to do a pretty good job. Immediately got order number recorded after purchase. No need to contact customer service and let them review the orders.

Appreciate the tip on the Ridge at Wine Access. Geyserville was gone, but they had 2017 Lytton Springs which I prefer.

Wine Access sent me a $100 off $250 new-customer code this weekend, which I was not sure if I was going to use. But I did... I stacked that coupon with the Amex offer to pick up the Ridge Lytton Springs at <$18/bottle, taxed and delivered.
I have the $100 off $250 in a banner across the top, but when I add the Krug to my cart, I just get the $30 off $100. Bait and switch, even if unintentional, is a big turn off. No answer at the listed phone number, just voice mail

ETA Actually, if I increased it to 3 bottles ($540) it gave me $100 off, but if I do two ($360) , I just get $30 off.

I'll do the $30 off along with teh Amex deal for one bottle and that will get me to $100, and should get free shipping.

It's because they don't stack discount codes. You should email them and ask them to apply the other one ... or order something ~$100 first.

That wasn't the issue. They would give it to me on 3 bottles for $540 but not 2 for $360. And I did buy one, and this time it would only give me $50 off $200, and by the time I found a $20 wine to throw in there, (the first one was sold out), all the Krug was gone. Wile I got one bottler for $110 all in, it wasn't worth the hassle, spent over an hour on it (including trying to call 3 times)

Well, I must admit, their after the fact customer service was great.

Although I only got one bottle, they honored $100 after I sent in an email, with my Amex credit bringing it down to $40. That will likely be my deal of the year.

ETA - oops I bet I am going to lose the $50 discount from Amex. $90 is still a good resolution.

I must be doing something wrong. I opened an Amex Blue Cash Preferred, and my wife opened a Hilton Honors Amex, and after a month - still no WineAccess offer. I've had Wine Country Gift Baskets, Benchmark, and now Stags' Leap Winery, but bupkis for Wine Access.

My wife and I both have Hilton Honors Amex, but only I had the Wine Access offer. She did not. No idea how Amex determines which offers go to whom.

Hi Michael,
It is the same for me. This was just an error on their part. My bigger issue is that anyone who takes wine seriously should not allow wine to ship from Miami to Atl in August. It just shouldn't happen. I'm an otherwise satisfied customer.
I wonder why anyone serious about shipping wine would even locate a warehouse/distribution site in Miami.
Good point. [cheers.gif]
Because its a massive market for them, and all of their wines that ship out of the Miami warehouse all ship at night. I actually asked someone at wine.com that knows, because I ordered a very expensive bottle that shipped out of Miami in the summer (I didn't know that is where it was coming from) and it arrived on the west coast without a problem. I thought it was coming from their CA warehouse, so I didn't change the shipping date, but it arrived with no apparent issues. Having said that, I wouldn't want my wine shipping from the Miami warehouse again, but they know what they are doing...

Wine.com has emailed me twice now that they don’t have bottles that I have on hold for October shipping. Once is understandable, but I’m starting to get frustrated. They followed up with an offer to substitute, but then charged me the difference.

As an FYI, WineAccess is currently 10% cashback on Rakuten. Some great deals to be had when stacked with referral / new site coupons and the AmEx offer.

Had an interesting exchange with Rakuten regarding a recent order. They did not credit me with a purchase, so I started an inquiry. They responded with: "Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, Cash Back is available for new customers only." with a link to the T&C. That seemed very strange but upon looking I see that it is posted on their WA page now. I'm unsure if it was before. They credited me anyway, so I have no complaints. I will keep that in mind in the future. I guess the idea is only to drive new business, but it still seems a bit odd.

Also, RMN now shows 1% cashback on wine.com. Not sure whether to take this as a good sign that perhaps higher offers may return, or a sign, when considered in light of fewer big coupons recently, that wine.com is throttling its discount game significantly. The latter would be in keeping with the earlier reporting re. driving up revenues earlier this year.

As an FYI, WineAccess is currently 10% cashback on Rakuten. Some great deals to be had when stacked with referral / new site coupons and the AmEx offer.

Link for $30 or $50 off for new customers: PM for referral code

Link for $50 off $200 for new or existing customers: http://wineaccess.com/newsite

A couple of interesting buys:
Teeter-Totter Cab: https://www.wineaccess.com/catalog/2018 ... dfd237829/
Ridge Lytton Springs: https://www.wineaccess.com/catalog/2017 ... 8567921f4/
There's no 10% cash back right now on rakuten? It's 1.5% on my screen

I posted about it on Sunday on the WA thread, but I guess no one saw it. Krug 168 for <100 shipped all-in!

New to WB, First post. I've been taking advantage of the wine.com deals posted. TY to all! We all have budgets right.....so wine.com is this crazy puzzle of Fair pricing and region availability , taste yada yada right.....so today i utilized the 50 off 150 (ty again!) and came up with
1x Produttori Langhe '18 @ $27 (consistent with local $)
1X Produttori '15 Rabaja @ $40 net
1 x Bille Salmon BR NV @ $40 net

$107 Total

Unless there's regional/state variance, I don't believe Wine.com sells whiskey of any kind??

They sell liquor in CA at least. I think it depends on the state.

Thanks for the info! Living in PA, you forget what it's like to be in the 21st Century for liquor and alcohol sales...

I had a new Wine.com offer on my Amex, and the wife’s Amex.

$10 off $50, expires Jan. 2021, lame offer but I’ll take it.

And an offer for DC.Zachys.com, $30 off $150
