What is the best no annual fee Amex card people are recommending for these wine offers? I don't currently have an Amex and was told by my mortgage broker not to apply for any new cards until my refi closes (hopefully next week), but after that I think I need to look into the Amex angle.

Thanks! [cheers.gif]
So my wife got offers for WineAccess, Benchmark, and First Bottle on a Blue Cash every card. I'm also not sure if she's ever bought a bottle of wine on that card, so it's not clear how much purchase history plays a role. I don't think the type of card you have matters that much. I do get different offers on different amex cards, but I don't necessarily see a pattern.

I'm no churning expert, but I think the Amex EveryDay and BlueCash would be reasonable no-fee Amex cards, with a nod toward the everyday if you plan on racking up points for future travel, and a nod to the bluecash if you would prefer to just get cashback.

Also, find a friend to refer you to get them a little referral bonus.

I got the blue cash business. 2x MR on everything. Most of the wine offers have been appearing on that card for me.

Curious why American Express would send anyone wine offers if they do not order wine with the card.

Thanks! When I said “best” Amex, I did mean generally best for cash back or rewards, not necessarily best for attracting wine coupon offers. It seems like some of these offers have another layer to stack if you use an Amex, so I’d like to add an otherwise good Amex no-fee card to my arsenal.

If you do eventually plan on getting an Amex with an annual fee that would let you pile up more MR (membership rewards) points, then i'd go for the everyday card so you can use both cards to contribute to the pool of MR points.

I really really wish that the forum rules would block referral links. C'mon guys, at least pretend that you are adding value before you spam your referral links...

I'm okay when it's relevant. Or if a true deal is available with a specific bottle or something. But yeah just I've kinda gotten used to it and expect that every 5 post will include a WA link.

Thanks for the feedback. I will keep going back to them to try and get the credits.
I went back and looked and found a couple of more orders. So I think my scorecard on futures orders looks like this -

2 orders not credited, I reported, and after a few e-mails received the credit.
1 order not credited, I reported, several e-mails, still telling me I have to wait until it ships, awaiting their response to my latest
2 orders not credited and I just reported so the e-mail process is just starting.
Out of curiosity, which Rakuten rep has been the one turning you down via e-mail? I have been getting a lot of rejections from "Kaelin M." for my orders. Not sure why they are overseeing so many of my support tickets.

WineAccess has some good stuff up right now. 2017 Ridge Lytton Springs $40, 2018 Bedrock Old Vine Zin $24, 2013 Stolpman Syrah Originals $28, 2018 Cristom Pinot Noir Willamette Valley $30. Regular prices are just ok, but when combined with $50 referral credit (thanks RyanA, used your link) and Amex $50 you can get some great deals, and free shipping. They will hold shipping during hot weather too, just make sure to select the option at checkout.

I have had different Rakuten reps on different cases. I'm down to two "open" tickets, both opened relatively recently because I had overlooked them. Since my last update (I think), they've credited me with two more - both 10% days so not insignificant. At least one of those was a futures purchase, so with that and the "no extra charge" StewardShip shipping, it made wine.com the national price leader on those for me.

Search is kinda bad on WA. Better to go through varieties

Bedrock = https://www.wineaccess.com/catalog/2018 ... asket=true
Ridge = https://www.wineaccess.com/catalog/2017 ... asket=true

Yes, much easier to click on All, Reds, or Whites and scroll through the offers that way instead of using the search function. Also don’t forget to check the “Limited time specials” or “pre arrivals” as I don’t think they come up when you browse the rest of the wines.

Thanks, those didn’t show up in “all reds” but with the $50 Amex credit it’s a great price on a half case of OVZ. Does anyone know if the offer includes tax? These are $144 for 6, which lands at $154.08. Just wondering if anyone else “priced it to perfection” with tax and still got the offer credit?

Yes my target price is $137 which equals $150.02 after tax.
What's funny was before tax was calculated after referral discounts etc. But now Tax is calculated pre-discount.

Thanks again! 6 OVZs for $17.33 per is silly. Just popped one and the pure enjoyment I get from this wine at this price point is everything I love about wine and this forum. Cheers all!

Wait a few weeks and then send in a request for missing credit. That is what I did and I have now been credited for every order except the larger 10% order.

When I've gotten these I've responded with something like "that's fine but I would like you to please confirm that if I'm not credited when it ships in October (of this year for in-stock orders I've held for weather, or of 2022 for futures orders) I can request my credit then and it won't be "too late" to request credit at that time for a purchase made in June, 2020." The response to that has generally been "here's your credit" or "here's your credit this time but in the future you'll have to wait until it ships."

This makes complete sense. Otherwise someone could place an order and request a delay in shipping, get the RMN discount, then cancel the wine.com order. Not that anyone here would do something like that...

Crap. Wine.com just started charging tax to DC. I assume other states that weren’t taxed now too?

For me it’s been 2018 Geyserville, Bollinger, and Billecart Salmon Rosé. Cherry picking 2015 brunello, and ‘15/‘16 Bordeaux. Fillers include 2016 Monsanto CCR, guado al tasso and il poggione rosato, random Chablis.

A few bottles of 2018 Limerick Lane RRV, also really good.

What have others been getting?

I need a 100/300 coupon bad! I'm an addict!!!
What have you been buying?
For me it’s been 2018 Geyserville, Bollinger, and Billecart Salmon Rosé. Cherry picking 2015 brunello, and ‘15/‘16 Bordeaux. Fillers include 2016 Monsanto CCR, guado al tasso and il poggione rosato, random Chablis.

A few bottles of 2018 Limerick Lane RRV, also really good.

What have others been getting?
Roederer L'Ermitage, 2015 Prieuré-Lichine, 2015 Lanessan, Oremus Mandolas dry Furmint, Truchard Roussanne, Pepiere Gorges, Ridge Estate Cabernet, a smattering of others.

1/2s of Krug Rose
2018 Arnot-Roberts 'Trout Gulch' Chardonnay
Boulay Sancerre Rose

All very good deals with the free shipping, 33% off from coupon and 10% off from RMN factored in. All crappy prices w/o...

Some great deals this year using the coupons and RMN, typically coming in at 25-30% below WSP and below CT average. I bought a bunch of '16 Bordeaux but also filled on some '10 and '09 (I know most of these won't be available anymore):
'09, '10, '16 Canon
'16 C la Gaff
'16 Cos
'10 Duhart-Milon
'16 Laroque
'16 L-B
'15 Palmer
'08, '14, '16 P-C
'16 SHL
'10 Troplong

Also from CA some Ridge MB, BV GdL, Insignia, TOR, Heitz

A bunch of La Rioja Alta and Billicart-Salmon Rose to fill in orders.

We must be cut from the same jib. Got many of those same things and agree there’s no better deal out there than when they offer 100/300 and RMN has 10+ percent off!

That is exactly why I am following up on my purchases. The cash back via Rakuten was huge. My purchase on the 10% day was $2,200.
They have not credit any of my orders they keep saying the order has not shipped and they can't credit till the order is official
They have credit me for one of my four future orders so may be i will get the rest

With WineAccess, can anyone confirm that you can trigger 2 credits in one order? It’s $50 back on $150 order up to 3 times - can I place one order that hits $300?

100% yes. Just make sure you don't have a wine access credit that takes the sub-total under the Amex Offer spend requirement and you can trigger it.

Cash back update -

RMN just got back to me on the first of my RMN-wine.com purchases to reach the 45 days (which was not automatically credited). They have now issued the credit (this was not a futures purchase). Two interesting things: 1) As with my more recent Rakuten credits (but see below), they deducted the amount of my StewardShip shipping "discount" from the amount of the purchase, but they didn't deduct my other discount coupon, nor did they add the shipping cost.
My second RMN purchase just turned 46 days old. Again, no automatic credit. I used their reporting feature this morning, and they credited it this afternoon. No additional e-mails needed. This again was not a futures purchase but it was again one where I used a significant wine.com discount code (the ones that Rakuten is now saying DQ purchases from getting Rakuten cash back). This time, they gave me the 10% of the full subtotal. Like the first time, they did not deduct the amount of my discount code before applying their percentage and they did not add the shipping amount either, but unlike the first time, this time they did NOT deduct the amount of my StewardShip shipping "discount."

So, who knows? I'll have a few more that turn 46 in a couple of weeks, and we'll see how they go.

another 100/300 wine.com code i've not seen on this thread yet:
7KBMAFR

you can combo the promo code so:

1.) purchase GC via Raise (https://geta.raise.com/DLIU9114); ~6% from them or if you're new you can use promo code: FIRST for 10% off up to $20
2.) clickthrough via ONE of the following: 3.) apply promo codes when you purchase through affiliate links

bonus: from time to time there's amex offers so if you pay with amex you get those too.

http://share.wineaccess.com/v/dennis_23 <= my wine access referral for $50 off 150 for you and 50 for me; check sites above for same type of rebates.

*disclosure, shameless plugs of my referrals above champagne.gif [thankyou.gif]

In my experience, rakuten has been fastest and others you have to be a bit more diligent matching it and submitting a request if they don't automatically credit you.
*Update on RMN vs Rakuten ebates. While RMN provides higher %'s of cashback usually, you have to be diligent and track so it hits 45 days to initiate a reward. Of all the orders, only 1 was automatically captured by RMN vs all the Rakuten ebates and Mr. Rebates. So, if %'s are equal my preference is Rakuten Ebates or Mr. Rebates and for big orders, I'm happy to followup w/ RMN since it's like a "bonus" to get the big rebate later. neener champagne.gif

Any new 100/300 codes for Wine.com? I've used all the ones mentioned here (last one on 7/10), also my wife has done same.

Haven’t seen anything good come from them of late...hope it’s not a shift since the referral issue.
