TN: Two More Whites...(short/boring)

Tasted these two several weeks ago:

PierreBoniface Vieilles VignesAd’OP: Apremont Vin de Savoie (11.5%; Jacquere grape;HandPickedSlctns) LesRocailles/St.Andre/Savoie 2017: Pale gold color; fragrant pear/carnations some stony/mineral/chalky/perfumed talc classic Alpine white nose; quite tart/tangy/grapefruity rather stony/mineral/saline/chalky some floral/carnations/pear/grapefruit rather savory Alpine white flavor; long quite tart/tangy/bit lean very savory/saline finish; a quite attractive spare/savory Jacquere. $26.00 (KK)

TerreRouge Viognier Fiddletown Estate (14.5%; www.TerreRougeWines.com) BillEaston/JaneO’Riordan 2011: Med.gold color; strong floral/Viog/pear blossom/spicy light herbal/minty/thyme some light/pencilly/oak slight nutty/oxidative rather complex nose; bit soft very rich/lush sightly bitter strong Viog/pear blossom/floral/minty/spicy light pencilly/oak/smokey fairly complex flavor w/ light nutty/oxidative character; very long/lingering bit minty soft/rich/lush light pencilly/smokey/oak strong floral/Viog/pear blossom finish; quite a lovely Viog showing some maturity/nutty character; probably ready to start its downhill ride; stupid/silly price. $14.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. The TR Viognier was from Bill’s blow-out sale last Fall of things from the inventory. I was expecting it to be a bit shakey, but it was in a wonderful/fully-mature place. Probably not going to improve any.
