Foillard with some age

At age 12, this is really drinking well.

2007 Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du Py: There’s a nose that shows equal parts fruit, plant matter and earth. It has a coffee note that I see in Gamay when it takes on some age. It has a velvety feel in the mouth and a core of cherry and raspberry fruits. There’s some blood and cherry stone and tangy lift to the finish. Drinking beautifully.

The '07 Foillard has been drinking off the charts the past five years, but, I have to admit, I liked it best 2-4 years ago.

Great note! One of the first wines I wanted to cellar… love Cote du Py with some age!

Very helpful, thank you. I am relatively new to this (collecting and cellaring wine), and have stashed a bunch of 2015 and 2016 Folliard in the cellar. Glad to know my efforts are likely to be worthwhile…

A friend brought the 2009 to a dinner earlier this year and it was lovely. I imagine it will stay that way for several years.
