Hint: It's in the Côte de Beaune and good for transitioning an American palate to a French one.

Another acceptable answer would be more recent vintages of their Coteaux de Saumur which used the same motif as the Brézé.

I bought the Balthus label at Mouton, the 93 was the new release when we went there on our honeymoon. Is quite a standout for the tough vintage, as was Lalande.

I think I have half a case of 2004 somewhere but nothing more recent. I'm less familiar with their recent label even if I took a couple of bottles en primeur 2018.

Some of the euros may know this, but any American who picks this right will achieve the pantheon of ultimate wine geekdom:

This is one of the "artist" labels that Agnès Levet paints for her wines, looks like 2016 Péroline IIRC.

I should have banned William from that post too. He lives there and wrote an article about Levet! Yes, he’s correct.

And the Latour look-alike was the trick. But it is a Bordeaux.

I had to rack my brains for this one. It was a "house wine" at my college during my student days. It's Château La Tour St. Bonnet!

The 2005 was solid. I bought 2010 as well but have not cracked one, at least cannot recall it.

Pat Martin’s recent 2005 vintage note on CT:
June 26, 2019 - For lovers of old school claret, this has to be an all time QPR. Black cherry with earthy notes. Good brightness and grip, still showing some structure. See my prior notes for more details. Drinking well, but I’m guessing this is even better in 5 years (one Blanquito).

The bottom is Leoville Poyferre.

Love the label, don’t love the wine.
