2010 Franck Grux Meursault ‘Meix Chavaux – Light gold color, perfect for 9 years. Reticent aromas are fresh and broad, with both lemon and lime, and a tiny hint of pineapple. The palate is young and zingy, there is a reprise of the lemon, less lime, no pineapple, a mineral note and texture reminiscent of good Chablis but a breadth of flavor that says Cote de Beaune. There’s a tiny hint of sage, refreshing and drying. This is a very good wine, but a baby and (as so often with me) a singleton. Rated 89 tonight, up to 4 points of improvement possible with time. I will finish the glass and put the rest in the fridge, revisit over the next few days. This is good, but there is more potential down the road. My first bottle from this producer, I will be happy to revisit.
