Yeah the first offer I got for Cristal 08 was the cheapest, 199 at Vins rare, should’ve bought more.
for some reason the Ralphs next to me has had 08 cristal for $199 at least 4 times in the past 6 months.. as part of their buy 6 special. BUT they only ever stock 4 at a time. So i gotta buy 2 bottles of $3 cabernet as filler

When is the expected arrival on these? The proposed sparkling wine tariffs might be a problem.
My worry as well. All I had ever heard was "sometime in 2020" and I heard that over a year ago.
Ripe fruit isn't necessarily a flaw.

They told me Spring 2020 when I asked about estimated delivery.

I know Taittinger can do no wrong but has anyone tried this one yet? I haven't tried a single '08 Blanc de Blanc anything. Or '09 for that matter.

I tried the 08 Comtes with Pierre Emmanuel a few years back. It was the best young Comtes I’ve had

Guys, bad news. Sokolin is advertising the 2008 CDC for $239 and it appears to be a futures offer as it's "Available Soon". So much for getting this wine for $125-$135.

Yeah. I was not happy when I saw this.
The tasting room attendant told me 10 days ago that he expected retail pricing the same as the 2007 (but no guarantees, of course). The Sokolin price is 2X+. That is a heck of a markup. I wonder if that is a troll based on perceived demand, or if that is price that will hold....

Sokolin is not exactly a price leader.

That would be a kick in the *****

I've been expecting higher prices than the 2007 but at that price I'll probably pass. May as well buy 08 Cristal.

Or reflecing tariff risk (though I realize the Champagne tariffs weren't adopted and the next time it comes round is likely June.)

U.K. and Hong Kong prices range $170-$180. Unless Taittinger pulled a "Krug" reducing production levels because of the economic situation in 2008, there should be a lot of product to sell. It's hard to believe the market will tolerate prices north of $200.

So glad I bought WHW's offer. Hopefully they honor their price.

Yes, the brut millesime is great! I believe 2012 is the current vintage? Usually, the millesime drinks really well early on, but the 08 seems to have lasted a while and now is something special, and will improve I think.
