TN: 2006 Marie-Noëlle Ledru Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Always love to open a nice bottle of champagne Thanksgiving morning to enjoy while cooking with my wife. Had tasted this on release and loved it and thought it worthy of further cellaring. On opening, a darker gold color than I’d have guessed and it smelled a bit advanced. 10 minutes in the air, I swear the color lightened and the wine firmed and tightened to show the vibrancy and purity I remember on release. Ginger and floral/lemon on the palate, with a soft and juicy acidity on the finish. Light weight but not at all lacking. It’s still evolving one glass in. If you have any, no reason to delay gratification as they say. A nice start to the day.
