2015 Chateau Musar Musar Jeune Red - Lebanon, Bekaa Valley (11/27/2019)
Purchased in Poipu and paired with grilled burgers. Dark garnet. Nose of damp cellar, dark currant, earth, tapenade, black pepper. Surprisingly dense and delicious on the tongue with layers of smoky black currant, graphite, brier, pepper, and fecund earth. Firm but fine-grained tannin balancing freshening acidity. Moderately long finish of brambles, plum, and rocky soil. Very nice wine exhibiting reasonable QPR even with Kauai pricing. (90 pts.)
