2013 Pian dell’Orino Rosso di Montalcino - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino (11/20/2019)
Humming along really well, with solid red fruit, earthy tones, and a solid structural backbone. It’s a bit polished, but not glossy. Feels more finished and refined than contrived. It’s very easy to drink now, and makes pizza night a lot of fun.

I used to see their Rosso around here from time to time but it’s been a few vintages now, since I’ve seen one. Your description of “more finished and refined than contrived” fits my previous experience. Certainly enjoyable wine.
Had this 2 times already and agree with your description. Smooth and polished without being glossy is what I would call it. Good introduction to sangio for your friends who need an introduction to the grape.
