This is the oldest white I’ve ever had under screwcap.
Light to medium gold color, looks less than 9 years old. The aromas are enticing, fresh, with notes of lemon, hay, cactus flower and ground coriander seed. The palate is also fresh and balanced, but the flavors are a little dull; the hay has been in the field through more than one rain shower, the acidity towards the end is a little out of place. There is decent weight, but it contributes weight, not gravitas. I think this is probably as good as it’s been since the first year in bottle. There are things to like… it’s clean and fresh, there’s some subtlety to the spice, but at the end it’s a mediocre, middle-weight, middle-aged wine. Rated 83.
