out of curiosity, is this a regional dialect thing? In NY a car service is a black car/livery, or more awkwardly having your car serviced (maintenance). I have never heard a towing service called a “car service” (I’ve only lived in NY and South)

I’m from Illinois and lived in Chicago for 10 years. When I think of “car service” I think of what you describe Dale.
