wife loved the 07 Ramonet Batard last night and ordered another great wine. We were having Comté and a country pâté so I grabbed the 05 Batard. Good wine, very good wine, but no epiphany like 07. A bit hotter and more alcoholic, didn’t have the acidity and drive of 07, not fat but definitely less structured than 07, citrus and a hint of mint, the wine tightened a bit but still didn’t reach greatness. I might have liked it more if I hadn’t had 07 just 24 hrs ago.
07’ Sauzet Batard is nails too.
Another good result.
