Another blind Sunday

with the local gang

No formal notes taken, but wotd for me was the 2000 Leoville-P.
btw I was en fuego on the blind tasting.

Nice line up Scott !

Looks like 2009 L-P, not 2000 based on a somewhat blurry pic.

It was 2000.

How was oak signature on it? After 19 years I would hope its settled into the background.

It was great but it’s always going to have a bit of that charcoal quality IMO. It has receded some.

Notes? Comments on guesses vs. reveals?

The Champagne was oxidized–like bubbly Fino
The Chablis was not served blind–GREAT Montee de Ton
I called warm vintage Carillon Puligny (on the 13 Carillon Puligny)
The Barolo was VA/oxidation/DOA
I called 02 Cote de Nuits on the 10 Nuits St Georges
I pegged the Pegau perfectly (09)
I called high quality 2000 Left Bank on the Bordeaux (but I also know the donor’s cellar really well).

Next week I might not be able to tell white from red. champagne.gif

Bubbly Fino sounds tasty, but not so much if I was hoping for Champagne!

Bummer on the Barolo, but, given the age, I suppose it was a known crapshoot.
