Julian Haart Wintricher Ohligsberg

2018 Julian Haart Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (9/29/2019)

Discreet, elegant nose of ripe peach, lemon. It’s powerful and taut with racy, mineral tension. Tight, young, citric, with fine acidity and amazing length and detail.

I love, love, love their wines. Hate, hate, hate their bottles.

Must say that Julian Haart 19th-century-label design fits well on the extra-tall 350-mm antique-green bottle. More complaints about the super long magnum bottles being difficult to store!

Love, love, love their wines! Love, love, love their labels! Hate, hate, hate, their bottles! (too)

Barry, great note!

I am curious what is so odd about the bottles? I have never noticed it?

Only thing I hate is how hard it is to get their top bottles.

I was thinking the same thing, on both counts.

Bottles are about 3/4 inch longer than other German bottles, no big deal for me.

Love the wines, 4th most populous in the cellar from a very short start.

Hmmm…I will have to check when I get home. I recall them being smaller than some of the standard GG bottles.

They are too tall to fit in my home wine refrigerators.

They are also to tall to fit in almost all wine cases but that’s not so much of an issue for me anymore now that most of my wine is in open storage and it’s up to the storage company to deal with the problem.
