Getting corked out of my mouth

Just opened a 2010 Lillian and it was corked. Took a few sips to confirm and now I can’t seem to get the taste out of my mouth. We’ve now opened a 2009 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape and I still feel like I can taste the previously corked wine, even after rinsing well with water. Is this common? Any tips on clearing my palate?

Did you try soda crackers or hard cheese?

No, but that sounds like a good suggestion, thanks.

Drink better wines.

Not sure what is your point. Last 2010 Lillian we drank before this one was scored 95 points.

Joke.

Chew on some saran wrap?

Great idea. No joke.

Just what I was thinking!

(Note to OP: This is a joke.)

I would rinse with a CoorsLite. It’s highest calling.

Brush your teeth and tongue with a paste made from sugar, oak shavings, and Mega Purple.

Killjoy.

Eat a spoonful of peanut butter.

Creamy or crunchy?

Need to put these comments behind a NYT paywall. [snort.gif]

Have a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, preferably a New Zealand one with both good acidity and citrus. Should cleanse the palate and you can get back on to the reds or enjoy some cheese to finish it off. S/B works well to cleanse the palate while smoking a cigar.

Done for the evening once I have a corked bottle.

Saltine crackers followed by extensive whistling.

Gargle a white claw. White claw fixes everything
