Served over two nights and stored under Repour in the interim.

Upon opening it appears intensely floral, then turns to a more high toned herbal element. Some would have said green beans! On the palate it is refreshing and has a few sharp redcurrant or cranberry flavors. Very pleasant and enticing.
Day two starts out with with deeper more complex aromatics. I'd say mint for simplicity but it is really more like alpine herbs. Very complex nose. Palate much smoother and broader. Again deeper, richer, more complex. At this point obviously truly outstanding.
I feel that the wine was better on day two but enjoyed the evolution enough that it'd be a shame to have missed it. Would decanting help? I'm not sure. If served in one sitting I'd have opted for a double decant or two some hours before serving.
My only concern for Rhys wines is that they are now mostly priced at a level that makes them more of an occasional treat for low lifes like me. I'd so love to be able to collect and drink these more often.
