Pretty sweet that a case purchase comes with a signed authentic vineyard-worn harvest boot.
Did anyone else have to pay an upcharge to get plain labels instead of the bottles with engravings of Gene playing golf with Alex?

Order in. Even though not cheap it's the easiest decision of the year.

Sold out. Congrats boys!

Fall, 2019

Dear Friends and Family,

My brother and I are humbled by the interest we have received during this year's release. As a result, our 2016 MACDONALD Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon has sold out. We appreciate everyone's support of our small family vineyard and we will continue to create wines that express our site and old vines. Our goal is to share our wine with everyone who is interested and we hope to have the opportunity to do so with future vintages. Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Graeme MacDonald and Alex MacDonald

That Mac wines are next level good, and Alex and Graeme are two down to earth, cool cats?

What did Jeb Dunnuck score this wine? I see he gave the 2015 a 99, and mentioned something about the 2016 being even better (found on K&L's site), so I assume it got 100 points.

Is there any other Napa Cabernet that consistently gets 98-100, and is less than $180? Might be a question for a new thread, but off the top of my head, I can’t think of one...

Spottswoode was but has incrementally increased their prices accordingly to negate the art of flipping, was 210 for the 2016

Nobody knows for sure since the current buyers would need to get off the list first and/or increase in production. Then add more and more people signing up for the waitlist. Appears for now about 10 years is the wait if you signed up recently.

I think the reason for the longer wait is that people that may have deleted the e mail a few years ago, are now paying attention and purchasing.

Hmm, I believe the longer wait comes down to economics 101. champagne.gif

The other reason is that people on this board who post speculation as to why the wait is so long actually buy and flip the wines themselves

The other reason is that people on this board who post speculation as to why the wait is so long actually buy and flip the wines themselves

There was also an unreleased 2008 of about 18 cases (single barrel). Not sure how many they still have but I was lucky enough to experience what is still my favorite Macdonald to date three years ago. I suspect that will be eclipsed once the bottles in my cellar are of sufficient age but it gave me inspiration to bury my yearly allocation deep in the cellar.

I think the reason for the longer wait is that people that may have deleted the e mail a few years ago, are now paying attention and purchasing.
Hmm, I believe the longer wait comes down to economics 101. champagne.gif
yet Macdonald is failing the class by not increasing prices with increased demand with limited product [rofl.gif]
